I’m really upset about my last experience here. I came here for the first time ever around May of this year and the quality was amazing! I even made a video about this place to rave about the attention to detail of each nigiri and just overall experience. It is on the pricer side so we decided to go back on a special occasion. We took a friend who was visiting here last Sunday and the quality of the fish was nothing like how it was on our other visit. Even with the quality bad they just didn’t seem to care about the overall presentation of the fish and didn’t care to take there time with each piece like last time. And not to mention the most important part. The rice that goes under the nigiri was hard. :/ It was like they used old rice and warmed it up. I really love nigiri and the rice being warm and soft is VERY important. Also they give you one small little side of ginger. I just had high expectations because it was so amazing the first couple of times but something has gone wrong here. Not sure if it’s new cook or staff or just winter season effort but I don’t think we will come back here.

Everything was awesome about this place, the food, the interior design, the service, and the fact that they haven’t gone to the moon with their prices. I’ll definitely be coming back here. Our server John was very nice which I appreciate. Sushi Ya is at the top of list of my favorites.

I have eaten a lot of sushi in my life. Sushi Ya was one of the best. The food was phenomenal. If you like spicy, I highly recommend the Crazy Devil Roll! The prices are reasonable and the service was great. I highly recommend this place!

We tend to try a new sushi spot for our family every other year or so. We realized we’ve never been to Sushi Ya and gave it a go the other night. I think this is our new favorite spot! The atmosphere is lovely, the waitstaff is attentive, and the food was excellent. We will be coming back soon!

The food and atmosphere were excellent, but the service was appalling. The waitress deliberately tried to scam me by denying that the tip was already included in the total bill — even though it clearly was. Had my friends not stepped in and pointed it out, I would have paid extra. This is outright dishonesty and completely unacceptable. I’m leaving this one-star review to hold her accountable and to warn others about this kind of unethical behavior.

Misos is free, or $2, depending on the vibe of the staff. Love the Sushi Ya roll the most, highly recommend. Rarely will your water be filled up during service though, I dont know if its because of the badass privacy screens lol. Good place to eat, would recommend, rolls are yummy! After many a trips to Ronnie 2 and Sushiya I gotta give the W to sushi ya. The muldoon samurai roll is exquisite from Ronnies, but the sushiya roll takes it for best roll in anchorage.

I got my number on a waiting list for 15-20 minutes. My date and I lost track of time talking in car waiting and realized over 35 minutes had passed. I walked in to check on reservation and was seated immediately. Staff was incredibly quick and was attended to well. Waiter was nice. Very good food. I paid $50 for two rolls and 4 crab Rangoon’s.

Day 1: So good!! Service was fast! The Sushi Ya Boat was really tasty, though I wish there was more sashimi included. The Golden Crunch Roll was also very good! Everything was great, highly recommend!
Day 2: Went to Sushi Ya again, but this time for lunch. The Spicy Sashimi salad was great as was the sashimi with sushi. The crunch roll was crunchy, and the Sukiyani was amazing. Heart attack was also very tasty. Tempura ice cream is insane

Wonderful food and quick attentive service. I had the tempura shrimp udon (delicious). My companion had sushi including “the best salmon sushi ever”.
