Lunch at the Kabila buffet was great! The tandoori chicken was so tender as was the goat curry. I don’t remember what the fish dish is called but I had more than one serving. I don’t know what it was about the plain naan but it was made just right, a little crusty and the right amount of salt. They have unlimited chai and that was lovely with some gulab jamun for dessert.
The atmosphere is light, bright and relaxing.
First off, everything arrived piping hot and packaged really well (major bonus points). I was pleasantly surprised to see branded containers, which already felt like a sign they take pride in what they do. The garlic naan tasted fresh, soft, and packed with flavor—no sad, dry naan here.
I ordered two different chicken curries. I was in the mood for something along the lines of butter chicken, and while they didn’t have it listed exactly, they did have chicken makhni… and let me tell you, it absolutely delivered. Rich, flavorful, and simply delicious. The second curry had more heat, and I loved it just as much—spicy without sacrificing flavor (a rare and beautiful balance).
Fremont is overflowing with Indian restaurants, but finding a really good one can be surprisingly tough. This place checked all the boxes and then some. Safe to say, this won’t be my last order.
This restaurant was a complete game-changer. From the very first bite, I could tell this was different. The flavors were rich yet balanced, the spices perfectly layered without overpowering, and each dish carried the depth and warmth that I associate with authentic Indian cooking. The aroma alone was enough to transport me back home, and the taste delivered on every promise it made.
The service was another highlight—attentive without being intrusive, with staff who clearly cared about the dining experience. The ambience was warm and inviting, managing to feel authentically Indian without going over the top.
For someone like me, who almost always skips Indian food abroad, this was a refreshing and welcome surprise. I left not only satisfied but also convinced that truly authentic Indian food can indeed be found in the US. This restaurant will now be on my list for every trip, not just to satisfy the occasional craving, but because it genuinely delivers a taste of home.
The Fish Pakora was equally bad: dry fish coated in a greasy, thick batter that was tasteless. Definitely not freshly made. Fish 20% Batter 60% Oil 20% Would not recommend.”
6/20/25 Monday I have been going to kabila last 20 yrs since I work close by in Kaiser. Their buffet is very good.
Recently they have changed buffet counter location & new chafing buffet dishes with lid very difficult to open n serve food in plate, heavy spoons n forks. Disappointing again no mango ice cream, no rice pudding in buffet.
11/2/24 Friday Happy Diwali. Good buffet but no kheer, no mango icecream.
7/21/23 Friday no goat curry, no mango ice cream.
2/24/23 Friday Today food wasn’t good in buffet. Watery butter chicken, goat pieces were hard, no kheer, jamun smaller than last time & price is still too high $17.95
2/10/23 Friday Very good buffet but pricey. I highly recommend.
Hopefully owner will consider & lower the price to $16 or $17 so more n more people can enjoy the buffet.
2/7/23 Tuesday $19 buffet started after 3yrs. Owner should lower the price $16 or $17 make it affordable so more people can enjoy the buffet. Food taste is great no doubt same like before pandemic. Thank u for maintaining the quality of food.
Goat curry, butter chicken, fish pakoda, samosas, chicken biryani, naan, jamun, kheer. All were super delicious. No mango ice cream this time.
2/6/23 Monday saw the sign buffet is back very excited. Cross a street from Kaiser Permanente medical clinics.
7/29/22 Friday due to staff short n may be they had plenty of online orders our food comes one dish @ a time. Fish pakora n chicken tandoori taste very good but small pieces/portion. Garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, goat curry n biryani also taste very good but food prices r ridiculously high.
We use to go often for buffet before pandemic. Waiting for buffet to be started, hopefully soon??????????????
4/21/22 Thursday over 2 yrs due to the pandemic no buffet. Food is delicious here.
The yogurt is typically fresh and creamy, with a home made natural quality. Often excellent. And the Gulab Jamun has never disappointed. Overall good to very good Punjabi fare and not overly spicy. With rare exceptions, the staff has been very friendly and helpful.
We visited around 8 PM, even though the restaurant closes at 9, and the staff clearly did not want to serve. As soon as we entered, we were told to sit on one side because the other side was “closing,” which made us feel rushed from the start. They also refused to serve certain sweets that were clearly visible on the front counter. Overall, the service was unwelcoming and felt like they just wanted us out quickly. The taste and quality have also gone downhill. Management really needs to review staff behavior and customer service standards.
