Our server Hector did his job so well! Every time we needed something he got it for us in more than timely fashion. The food came out quickly and was hot and tasted amazing. The vibe in the restaurant was awesome for holidays and the staff were dressed up for the part as well. In all it’s tasty food that is worth what you pay and the atmosphere is fantastic. Will come back!!!

I do not typically leave negative reviews; however, this experience warrants a formal warning to others. Agavero Cantina demonstrated a complete disregard for customer safety, food allergies, and basic standards of service.

My cousin has a severe corn allergy. Prior to visiting, we called the restaurant in advance to confirm whether safe alternatives were available. We were explicitly reassured that accommodations could be made. Based on that confirmation, and our many positive experiences at other Mexican restaurants, we chose to dine here. That decision was a mistake. Despite clearly and repeatedly explaining the allergy, the staff served her rice containing corn, after we had asked multiple times whether the rice was corn-based. Once we reiterated that her food cannot come into contact with corn, the rice was removed.

The situation then escalated. The server returned with a plate of lettuce and beans, with guacamole served on a corn tortilla placed directly on top of the lettuce. This was an obvious and unacceptable case of cross-contamination. When we asked for it to be corrected, the server returned with the same plate of lettuce, even though the corn tortilla had already touched it.
At this point, my cousin requested French fries as a substitute for the rice. Given the repeated failures, we asked to speak with a manager because it was clear her allergy was not being taken seriously.

The manager’s response was shockingly dismissive:
“This is a Mexican restaurant. Everything has corn in it.”

He proceeded to minimize our concerns further and stated that the French fries were cooked in corn oil—information that was only provided after the order was placed. Thankfully, my cousin had not eaten them, as she no longer felt safe consuming anything from this establishment.

We have dined at numerous Mexican restaurants where staff were knowledgeable, transparent, and respectful of food allergies. Agavero Cantina is not one of them. Their lack of care, poor communication, and dismissive management attitude create a potentially dangerous environment for anyone with food allergies.
If you or someone in your party has a food allergy or dietary restrictions. This establishment is not equipped, nor willing, to prioritize customer safety.

We had a group lunch to recognize a new coworker’s birthday. I ordered a shrimp quesadilla which was fine although I expected to see a few more peppers and onions. Everyone seemed to enjoy their entrees.

The staff came out in masks and dance music to celebrate the birthday which was very entertaining.

Went on a Saturday night, and our server was fantastic and attentive. I can’t remember what all we ordered but the food and frinks received no complaints from us. I typically visit the Lilburn location but will definitely this location again.

My fiancé and I both work as restaurant servers so when we go out to eat, we tip way over 20% because we know how difficult the job can be. We tip in cash because we know servers prefer cash. The servers here will hand you a tablet to pay on while the server is at the table, we tipped $0 on card and we told the server we will leave cash on the table for her. We leave it on the table because we don’t need a praise for our tip. So we put it on the table and then leave. But during this interaction the server gave us an attitude and was a little nasty to us as if she didn’t believe we would actually leave cash for her tip. We tipped her 100% of our bill and left the cash on the table. It was just a weird, uncomfortable feeling we were getting from our server when we were paying. Very odd but at least the food was good.

Great place to get food and drink with friends. Music can be a bit loud if you’re looking for something quieter. I had Javier as my waiter and he was great.

Our family goes here often for dinner. The food is solid, but I love going for the infused margaritas. They are delish! My favorite is the spicy pineapple.

A perfect evening. The host, the waiter Javier, the food runners were all excellent. The food was so delicious. I had the tortilla soup with chicken added and seafood enchiladas and hubby had nachos with everything. He really enjoy his margarita also. We will definitely return and the restrooms were clean and beautifully decorated. I really enjoyed every aspect of this new favorite spot. Thank you for great food, service and atmosphere.

This is our local Tex Mex restaurant so I’ve been here a few times. The first few I struggled to find something I really liked on the menu but this time I tried the shrimp quesadilla and it was surprisingly great! The tortilla was stuffed with big, juicy shrimp. I also had the cantina margarita which wasn’t my favorite (tasted too much like sour mix). The service was fantastic though so I’d still recommend it for those in the area.
