Very glad I chose this spot . I do not remember the bartender’s name unfortunately but he was very thorough and nice. He made the drinks and the salad was HUGE! It took forever for me to finish but I was glad. It’s a nice spot for brunch and I was very satisfied. The Pink Parisian is YUMMY!

Amazing restaurant with delicious food and a great ambiance. Went on a weekday night to watch the Dodgers game and it was not super busy. They had a big TV at the bar area, as well as indoor and outdoor seating. The burgers were packed with flavor and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The fries were thin and perfectly crispy.

Went for brunch. We had a small pug with us so we sat in the patio that was warm and heated making us super comfy as it was cold outside. The staff and the server were super attentive, pleasant and accommodating. We ordered steak and eggs, salmon and eggs and for our little pug we ordered him a steak. All so good. Parking was easy and getting seated was a breeze especially for brunch. I can’t wait to come back to this restaurant I highly recommend it!

Stellar. Listed among Pasadena’s best, it did not disappoint. Everything was terrific, really! Four of us and each of us had something delicious, starting with the ricotta lemon pancakes, an item I would not have indulged w/o the server’s suggestion and the view of them on the table next to us. The lightest and incredibly flavored pancakes worth every calorie. Hard not to finish it all!!! Smoked salmon and potato rosti, crunch, flavor and a terrific blend of ingredients with the rosti base crunchy and plentiful. The wild mushroom omelette with leeks, spinach and cheese topped with chive creme fraiche was superb as in the best mushrooms I’ve had in a long time, definitely top shelf and the real deal, unlike the grocery story example and the egg perfectly cooked, thin and light. Came with fresh fruit and mixed greens and your choice of bread; I had sourdough, which admittedly, given how fabulous everything else was, the bread was kinda ordinary, but no complaints. Left on very full stomachs. Good service. Ambiance, nothing special, but fine, not too loud, not too crazy even at the peak lunch/brunch hour when we were there. And, on a very aside aside, the bathroom had HOT water; you may not think that is a big deal, but I do/did and was glad for it, OK a little crazy perhaps, but part of the package…I don’t look for it or exclude on this dimension, just another positive in a long list. Go, enjoy!!!

my boyfriend and I had a great time at this place. I got the French toast and he got an omelette and both were delicious my French toast with serve with candied bananas and it really put it over the edge. There are so many other things I want to try next time I go and I can’t wait to go back. Everything else on their menu is as good as what we had.
also, the service was amazing. I wish I got the gentleman’s name, but he was so friendly, but not overbearing. he smiled A LOT and it made me happy to see. I am so happy we decided to go to this place and I can’t wait to go back. Thanks plate 38!

Exceptional location for Dinner. Social hour on Monday allows you to explore the menu and have a tapas experience. We enjoyed the various dishes that were all delicious, fresh and full of flavor. Tony served us along with Celestino. Service was excellent, they were both extremely attentive and met all our requests. We will be making it back again and soon. Don’t skip the seafood options, especially the oysters and their crudo! We went for 2nds on both.

While the food was good and the atmosphere was somewhat enjoyable the events ending our night over shadowed any enjoyable moments we had. Due to a lack of transparency on the part of the restaurant as well as our server “D” an ingredient known to cause severe allergies was added to a dish without being included in the description of said dish. While the soufflé bread pudding was ok at best for my sister is was something that could have caused more damage than it did if not for me telling her hey I think there are nuts under the ice cream that came with the soufflé. Upon informing our server of this so he could inform the staff preparing the meal we were met with a lukewarm apology and a “well it was on the menu.” with the same energy one would say “well it’s your fault.” The oversight on the part of the restaurant as well as our server for not knowing the menu, since he was asked if there were nuts in any of the desserts presented and he said “uhhhh, I don’t think so. Maybe pine nuts or peanuts?”, resulted in part of our party having to go across the street to get medication needed in order to help slow down the effects of the allergic reaction already being experience. After reviewing the menu again no where does it mention nuts being in any part of the desserts ordered. Then when we returned from getting the medication we were offered another dessert “by mistake” but was told as an apology with NUTS in the crust. The half hearted attempt at a correction was the cherry on top of a dangerous dining experience. If you have allergies please be aware that the staff may not be fully familiar of the ingredients used in all the dishes so be cautious of what you eat. I will not be returning to this establishment but I do ask that they do better. This could have ended worse than it did. Hopefully my sister will not need to go to urgent care or the ER over this.

I haven’t been here for a while and I was pleasantly surprised that the place is still busy. They set up a relatively big tent for outside dining in addition to their regular space and patio. Parking is tighter because of said tent. The dinner menu is pretty solid. The four cheese sexy Mac and gem salad are shareable. The skirt steak is predictable but the baked trout was amazing. So was the truffle mushroom burger.
We came back for brunch a few weeks later. We had to wait despite our reservation. The brunch offerings were pretty standard. The prime rib sandwich was savory delicious. The chips in the chilaquiles were pretty soggy.
On both visits, the restaurant was understaffed but the servers stepped up to make both visits pleasant.

I wanted to share that I have enjoyed coming here for years. Now it my experience has been taken to another level!
I now am a proud fur baby mama and to find out that Plate 38 is dog friendly, was just the cherry on top!
That sent me over the moon! Pasadena is great but sometimes like today I was in a rush took my dog to the vet and had to find a place that could accommodate my plus one. At 5:00 there was no way to go home and make it to dinner to the agreed upon time. However I arrived asked if ok to sit outside and waited for them to say no we do not allow, instead they smiled and welcomed us and we did sit on the outer area but they greeted us warmly, offered Ginger water. It really was an extremely pleasant experience. The hostess, waiter, they could not be any nicer really, the food happy hour offerings were delicious, the cocktails were not only pleasing to look at but they were as good as they looked! The food came out fast and hot. Can’t wait to go back!
