I do not understand how this place has anything more than 2 star average. Some places deserve superb ratings. Some places are ok and deserve a rating but it’s not so bad you want leave a review lower than their average-so you just don’t.
Then there’s places like…. Here. When the waitress set our food on the table I wanted to ask her if it was a joke. The sweet and sour pork was $14.95 and had 11 small-average size pieces and when you bite into them find out it’s mostly fried dough. Pork and broccoli was like a soup, and the pork was it came out of a bucket and heated up. Slimy slippery and just gross. The rice was acceptable. And the lo mein was also gross. The food quality was beyond unacceptable. I considered telling them “no, I am not eating that!” But we had already waited a while and the kids were getting restless. I should’ve paid for our soda and left. If the owners decide to give me a refund I’d come back for it and remove my review. Being a small business owner myself I didn’t want to cause a disturbance but I’m pretty grossed out. With tax, what you see here excluding the bowl of fried rice, was $60.73! 7pm ish on 7/25/24.
Steer clear. Go to the national chain across town, or to the grocery store deli. This is unacceptable. Unless I was being pranked- still not amused.

Food came out relatively fast. My waitress didn’t tell me til she brought my food out that they were out of fried rice. She gave me steamed rice instead but didn’t ask if I wanted it. It was more so implied that I “get” steamed rice.
Other than that, my food was full of flavor. Portion sizes were on the larger side for a 28 year young man. Also got the egg roll. Very delicious and fresh!

I had the fragrant chicken and a small hot and sour soup. The soup was very good. The chicken was a little on the tough side but tasted good.
Fast and friendly service at very fair prices.

I’ve been looking for great Chinese food since we moved to Sioux Falls. Golden Bowl qualifies as good. The sweet and sour pork and egg drop soup were quite good. They were definitely the best I’ve had in Sioux Falls so far. However, the Mongolian beef, fried rice, and egg rolls were mediocre. Our server was friendly, and it was a quiet and clean place to have lunch. I enjoyed the decor.
I felt the price was a bit high for the portions we got. I ended up spending a little over $40 for lunch for two people.

Very Overpriced. Food is okay but very very little value for the money. VERY little meat or veg, mostly sauce as filler. They don’t fill their containers, about 2 in left at the top usually. They don’t give you anywhere near enough rice for your meal and expect you to pay extra for more. The rice container is half the size of the food container, and the food container is mostly sauce so if you want to get full you and need to eat all that sauce and extra rice mixed up together which is gross. It used to be much better but it has been years. Hy-chi anyone?

The food was amazing! Hand-made egg rolls. The steak and shrimp sizzle platter is one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time.

Probably the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had, after a Chinese buffet in another place in, you guessed it South Dakota! Rapid city to be exact lol damn the Midwest has some TERRIBLE Chinese food. I give up, I just gotta go back to the east coast for any sort of decent Chinese. It just doesn’t exist out here even in somewhat sizeable cities, like SF and Fargo.
Ordered sesame chicken…. And got what looked like…the type of chicken that comes with chicken and broccoli. What the… heck? Lol. And it was mostly sauce, too, hardly any chicken (not even a good sauce, watery and tasteless, with a few sesame seeds thrown in). And even then, sesame chicken is supposed to be breaded chicken! I honestly thought it was a joke. Never in my whole life have I seen it made like that, with that rubbery joke that you call chicken. So gross. The rice was also a joke too… just… ew. Tasted more like Mexican rice, talk about confusing! Lol. Left a bad taste in my mouth overall and felt upset cause my fiance just wanted to treat me to some Chinese, which I’ve been craving for years yet can’t find anything good out in this part of the country sadly. Wish we could have been refunded; it was also pricey for food quality that I quite honestly could have got better in the freezer section at Walmart- but I didn’t wanna make a ruckus about it- I just wanted to leave lol.

Lots to unpack about this place. Nothing good for kids, portions are super small, asked to get some noodles for my toddler and they told me “no, we don’t do that.” I also saw our server sneeze into her hands and then not wash her hands before handling customer plates. Our experience was not one that we enjoyed. The food was just okay but we will not be going back. Would not recommend to others and definitely not good for young kids.

We have not tried this place yet, so we went here for lunch today. This has to be the smallest portion of Chineese food I’ve ever received. We were charged for dinner portions and pictured ia what we got. Two meals and 1 soda for almost $40. The service was good, the food was OK. I like the General’s Chicken/Tofu a tiny bit spicy. Theirs is closer to the orange chicken. Due to the portion sized, I’m not sure thatcInwould return.

The service from our waitress at Golden Bowl was quite pleasant. I must admit though I was a bit disappointed with the protein portion in the meals. It’s possible that it was just an off day or perhaps they were facing high demand during the busy lunch hour. I had heard many great things about this place, and while the overall quality was good, I hope they can improve the portion sizes for a more satisfying dining experience in the future. I’ll try dinner next time
