Super friendly staff and delicious food! I got the jerk chicken meal with macaroni and cheese, and the spiced chicken went so well with the creamy mac. It came with fried plantains, curry cabbage, and a little piece of sweet and moist cornbread. Everything was nice and flavorful. I also got a Jamaican pineapple pop to go with it, which was sweet and refreshing. Can’t wait to come back and try other dishes!

Edit 12/28/25: Updated to uphold the 5-star rating. Came back and got the oxtail combo with rice & peas, and it was also incredible. The rice & peas are flavorful and tender, perfect to go with the savory tender oxtail. My only complaint is that it was TOO GOOD to eat while I was reading! I needed to put my book down and use both hands to get every tasty morsel of oxtail off the bones. The oxtail and rice & peas both have a wonderful smoky flavor, with the perfect light level of heat – just enough to make your mouth glow. Unsure if the little spice is just from the oxtail, but the gravy from the oxtail combined with the rice & peas was incredible. The soft sweet cornbread and plantains went perfectly with everything. I will absolutely be back.

We tried the jerk chicken and curry chicken meals and loved both! The jerk chicken was the perfect amount of spicy and the flavor of the curry chicken was amazing. The fried plantains were my favorite but all of it was so good we couldn’t stop eating. The owners were so sweet in recommending us what to try and we can’t wait to go back! It was a good portion of food for the price also.

Food was delicious. Wanted to try everything but ended up getting the oxtail, jerk chicken, goat curry, mac and cheese, and received plantains and veggies. Everything was great but the oxtail stood out the most. The lady was super nice and helpful. Atmosphere is a little funny because it’s the mall, but would recommend.

We ordered the Jamaican Jerk Chicken. Extremely disappointed. It’s just very salty with no flavor. You get 2 pieces of chicken over a bed of rice. I don’t mind paying for unique food, but this isn’t it. Whether or not I’ve tried Jamaican food (I have), it doesn’t matter. The food is not flavorful, which is surprising… I won’t be back. I was excited to have a new restaurant open in the mall, but the quality and the portion is not there.
If you’re craving for Jamaican food, I recommend GR’s Olga’s. Super authentic.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch. He really wanted the stewed peas and I took their recommendation for their jerked chicken. The food was amazing! My chicken fell off the bones, was seasoned exceptionally well, and had the perfect touch of spice to round out the flavors! The rice and cabbage were perfect offerings to balance the chicken, and the plantain (this was my first time trying it) has quickly become a favorite for me! My husband’s plate was clear before I even got the chance to sample his, so I know he enjoyed the peas too. We also tried a patty and it was a delightful flakey crust filled with a creamy ground meat. All in all, this was a wonderful surprise to find on our quick stop to the mall and I hope others take the chance to stop in and meet these wonderful folks and have a delicious meal!

The food was delicious the customer service was absolutely terrible. We were so excited when we approached the counter . I asked for a small sample to taste the curry and jerk chicken because my daughter and I are from south Florida and actually were surprised that there was a Jamaican restaurant in the mall . The gentleman serving the food told me after asking for just a little bit more rice in my container that ‘ ive been BEGGING since I got here ‘ I said excuse me 3 times because I couldn’t believe that’s what he said . He then approached me while I was at the register to continue telling me how I was begging . The owner ( the husband) said he can’t be held accountable for his workers and continued to blame me for the customers in line leaving . I ended up purchasing my food anyways which did taste great . But was a terrible presentation and for a small business you would think the owner would want to take responsibility for the grown people he allows to represent the restaurant. Even as great as the food was I will never purchase again .

Don’t believe the bad reviews! Not one! This food is better than anything you’ll get in any restaurant or drive through for HOURS! I drive from Detroit to Lansing and back often and this is our go-to. This was my birthday meal and I eat at RuthChris/EddieV/Dprime/CapitolPrime often. Every. Single. Item. Perfection. They may run low from time to time because they can’t cook it fast enough, it’s that GOOD. I love the rasta pasta, all the chicken, oxtail, the sides, haven’t tried the meatballs because let’s be honest, they stuff the plate so full something would be falling out. It’s cheap skip affordable and it’s homemade by Char herself so you know what you’re getting yourself into. I just drove from the other side of Detroit to her like she’s my mom in the kitchen making dinner and I will do it again for as long as this place is standing which I hope is forever!!!!!

Damn this place is good!!! I had the curry chicken, macaroni and cheese, cabbage, plantains and corn bread. Even my 3 year old devoured it ! Definitely coming back before I leave town. The tables in front were clean and the service was great!
