On a friend’s suggestion, I checked out Pier 39 and The Coffee Girl.
What a sweet surprise!
It was close to closing time and the kitchen was already closed (they close at 4pm). Yet the gentleman behind the counter said, “Sure, I will make you a smoothie…”
And within moments, he handed me a beautiful berry smoothie.
(And the price didn’t break my bank.) The 12 oz. was $5.50 and was completely filling.

I sat at the river window and it was pure delight! (Both the view and the smoothie.)
Their pastries look delicious and the colorful, alive, festive atmosphere was fun and beguiling.
I will most definitely be back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Coffee Girl made my mom’s 66th birthday so special! ☕️

We stopped in after church for a birthday brunch, and everything was absolutely perfect! The food and drinks were excellent, and the entire staff went above and beyond to make my mom feel celebrated.

A huge thank-you to Hope, who helped us figure out exactly what we wanted and made sure everything came out perfectly. And an extra special shout-out to Hypatia, the sweetest supervisor ever — she asked my mom what music she wanted to hear for her birthday, turned it on, and even brought us extra chocolate for the strawberries we brought in.

They made us feel so welcome and at home. My mom said it was one of her favorite birthdays ever — and I completely agree. ❤️

Came here for breakfast on our road trip – this coffee shop has incredibly atmospheric vibes. They played cozy songs from the 1920s in the early morning, and we got to watch the sea birds play in water.

We loved their coconut macadamia mocha! The food was pretty good too – I got their vegetable quiche!

Recommended by a friend as the best views for a coffee lover- and they were pretty spot on. This is such a fun place to grab a hot coffee in the morning and overlook the river.

The food (with the exception of the pastries) is made to order. I got myself a parfait and it was packed with various kinds of fruits and berries- perfect for a day of hiking.

There is plenty of seating both inside and outside while you are waiting for your order to be ready. The staff were super kind and could tell were super busy. Even for how busy it was, it was still very peaceful and enjoyable.

The coffee is delicious and made for the perfect start to our day. A go-to for people passing through Astoria.

At the outside end of pier 39. You get to drive out onto the pier over rickety planks and everything. Very cool to visit. It’s the old Bumblebee fish cannery and now has shops restaurants and some small local businesses inside. Great coffee shop with bagels and pastries etc. THE BEST right up front view of the river in Astoria. Small outside seating area where they used to unload fish. Nice inside area for the usual weather. Nice friendly staff!

Starting our mornings with Coffee Girl on the pier was amazing. Stop in for their friendly staff, tasty cappuccinos, and yummy baked goods (I want to take a toteful of their breakfast cookies home with me)! Best of all the soundtrack and views of the river, the barking sea lions, and the purring pigeons is endlessly entertaining.

Been a staple favorite of mine for at least a decade. Used to take my younger siblings here for a treat. Now I take my nephew. No matter the weather, it’s a perfectly enjoyable place to soak in Astoria, views of the Columbia and the neighboring state of Washington, and if course the coffee of your coffee! Delicious breakfast and lunch bites available.
Note: It’s on a pier. Personally, I recommend parking on the main land and walking – you can see the boards “piano key” when cars drive over it.

Beautiful experience on a very perfect light rainy day here. Amazing service and coffee here. Upside down cranberry cake slice was so refreshing. Highly recommend coffee girl. Family and I enjoyed the view and food to the fullest here.

The line moved quickly and the cashier (I wish I had gotten his name, but male/mid-late20s?) was super pleasant. Our food was excellent. I don’t drink coffee (gasp), but my husband did and said it was great. The atmosphere was perfect! If you love a good walk, park at the Riverwalk Trail trailhead! I mean, it would’ve been a lovely walk without seeing a bald eagle along the way, but that sure made it extra special! The cannery museum and the historical artifacts on river boats were amazing! We will definitely return on our next visit to the area!

I’m really disappointed with my experience this weekend. I called in an order about 20 minutes ahead of time, knowing it was going to be a busy weekend in Astoria and trying to plan ahead.

When I arrived, I found out my order had never been put in. The manager had taken the call herself, written it down, and then… nothing was done with it. We were essentially starting from scratch once I got there.

When I asked what the point of calling ahead was, I didn’t really get an explanation — just an offer to comp the coffees. While I appreciate the gesture, it didn’t fix the time lost or the frustration, especially when I had tried to be proactive.

I’ve enjoyed Coffee Girl in the past, but this experience was really disappointing and makes me hesitant to rely on calling in orders in the future.
