Well, I wanted to do this yesterday, but got caught up doing other stuff. Well, my experience with my family had a rocky start at Nicha’s. Slow to get a person to assist us when we got in at the front desk when there was not many people inside the restaurant. We were standing there for 5 minutes before someone showed up to ask, just when we were about to leave. Of course, my family and I were feeling upset, but it changed after we got to seat on a table. The server from the front was really polite and apologized for the wait, and another server came immediately to ask for our drinks and the menus. I believe like 3 minutes later, the GM showed up to our table, and personally apologized for the inconvenience and how our first experience started at Nicha’s. He welcomed us with an awesome tortilla soup, and while we savored the soup, he told us the history of Nicha’s Cocina Mexicana! After that, the whole experience and our mood changed. The drinks were great! The food was AUTHENTIC Mexican food: the seasoning was perfect, portions were well proportioned and well cooked! The service was really awesome! My family and I left the restaurant with a big smile and a full belly! I definitely recommend this restaurant! Thanks to all of you for the great service and to make our first experience at Nicha’s an awesome one!

Went in for lunch with my family and had a great experience. Our server was friendly and helpful with menu items. The cocktails were great and the food was fresh hot and tasty. The homemade flour tortillas are a must.

We chose this restaurant because we were driving by and it had outdoor seating. Since we were first time customers, they gave each of us a free bowl of Tortilla soup. The soup was good, tortilla strips on the side (so they remain crispy), huge chunks of vegetables, and freshly pulled chicken (I even found a bone in one of my chunks, so you know it was made fresh in-house).

The restaurant doesn’t offer free chips and salsa, like most Mexican places, but it is available for $1.99. They actually offered to give us some for free, since our food was taking “too long” (over 5 minutes). We declined.

My wife got fish tacos, which she liked. I ordered the Texas Fried Burrito. It was huge and about three times as big as I expected. It was unique and very interesting. I liked it a lot, but would recommend ordering a side of sour cream to go with it.

The food was inexpensive and tastier than I would have expected for the price. I would come back and try more traditional Mexican offerings.

Great mexican food. Great service. We came at 930 and they had a buffet from 9-2 best choice we had was to eat here. Food had a little to much onions for me but was easy enough to pick out so still 5 stars!

It starts off with a nice, clean atmosphere.

Follow that up with a large menu with plenty of enchilada and fajita choices. Quite a bit of choices, actually.

The service was decent, but we were handed off between three different servers or hostesses. I really wasn’t sure who to flag down when we needed something – it was very confusing.

The portobello veggie fajitas ($13.49) included a LOT of food, but only two flour tortillas. That’s more than ok though. The flour tortillas seriously tasted store bought, and they were very rubbery. Mission tortillas would have been 10 times better than these. These didn’t even seemed warmed up or toasted on a grill. In addition to the portobellos, the dish included sliced onions, zucchini, and bell pepper. White rice and black beans were included on the side.

The Gordo Burrito ($9.49) is almost as big as your head – PLENTY of food to go around! It’s filled with beans, guacamoles, tomatoes, rice, cheese, guacamole, and your choice of 4 or 5 different meat options. We went with the al carbon. The meat was very tender and wonderfully seasoned, so I will give them credit for that. It was also topped with cheese, chili con carne, and gravy.

The rubbery flour tortillas is really what is bringing them down to two stars. I wish I could say more.

Pro Tips Follow Below:
Ask for the verde salsa if u want to bring the heat. The flavor in the red salsa was actually better, but the verde was spicier, so choose your poison.

I didn’t partake, but they do have a brunch buffet every weekend from 9a to 1:30p. $10.99 for adults, and mimosas are $3.

Stopped by just for a few drinks, so sat on outside patio area of about 6 tables. Was immediately seated and greeted by the server. She wasn’t bad, but not very friendly or have much to say. Very cold and distant, but not rude or anything, just not the friendly server personality.

Ordered the chamango since it was their signature drink. It was good and looked great. Also ordered a few other drinks. All were equally as good. Typical drinks you’d find at a Tex-Mex restaurant. Ordered some queso as a little finger food.

Never heard this place. And apparently the location I went to in Live oak is the newer one out of 3 I believe. Place was clean and nice. Has patio seating and night well lit. Great place to drink. I order the carnitas. These were really delicious. Came with Charros and rice and guacamole salad. Corn tortiallas were handmade. Always get corn. That’s just me. Wife had the poblanos chicken enchiladas. She said was the bomb! Charros and rice as well. Queso con chips was good. Cheese not watery. Thick. That’s how I like it. Salsa good. Ordered it mango margarita Called ” Signature Chamango” that was so delicious!! You can taste alchohol not the sweetness. Who ever drinks margaritas you know what I mean. Some times taste like sweet sugar.. but no these were on point. They offer breakfast. I need to try that out. Definitely will be back! Good luck
