We went here for a birthday dinner, and two people in our party found long black hair in their rice (we are all blondes so it definitely wasn’t ours!). One of those meals with hair belonged to the birthday girl, so she didn’t even get to eat.
The waitress removed the plates and later said they would comp one of the two meals. But to make matters worse they made it a point to charge automatic gratuity on the “comped” meal that was never eaten, which is unbelievable.
Multiple meals containing hair is absolutely disgusting and we will not be returning.
Ordered my food to go today and they couldn’t even get the order right and the manager wouldn’t even get on the phone to address the situation! The girl on the phone was rude! She didn’t take the order right and blamed me! Like I said iv been coming to saito’s long time and I definitely won’t be going back to this location again!
I ordered the tofu app which they brought from the kitchen so I could add it to my dinner since I’m a vegetarian.
There was a lot of food, left with leftovers. The rice and veggies were absolutely delicious. I could eat the egg fried rice everyday.
My husband enjoyed the shrimp more than the scallops. They were a little chewy for him.
The person taking orders is cold, rude, and completely miscast for a guest-facing role. The entire dinner feels rushed, as if you’re being pushed through rather than welcomed. While the chef clearly knows how to cook, there is little to no personality, engagement, or communication—missing the very essence of a hibachi experience.
Hibachi dining should be lively and fun. This isn’t. The staff has zero charm. If Wellington had another hibachi or teppanyaki restaurant, it would be very warmly welcomed.
Overall bizarre experience.
The food is still lovely, and the chefs were great as always, but some of the wait staff were not very friendly. They seemed rushed, didn’t really let us enjoy the experience, and made the night feel hurried overall. We were a large group, which is understandable, but it felt like they were more focused on turning the table and the tip rather than making the experience enjoyable, especially with kids at the table.
Because of this, we decided to try something different this year, and it’s safe to say that this tradition has unfortunately come to an end. It’s disappointing because the food and chefs are still good, but the service really impacts the overall experience. I’d say it’s a bit hit or miss.
Although the food portions were large, the quality and flavor were nothing to brag about. The restaurant itself could use a deep cleaning—the floors were sticky, and there was an unpleasant smell upon entering. The overall appearance looks tired and in need of an update.
To make matters worse, they automatically added a 30% gratuity, which is extremely high given the quality of both the service and the food. Considering the already high prices for the lunch menu, the experience simply didn’t live up to expectations. Overall, I was not impressed and would not recommend this location
