Felt this was a must have food while traveling through FL and was right! I went for the frita original and it is so good and exactly what’d expect but with more flavor than imagined!
They are kind and generous here. Great place to grab a quick bite to eat or if you’re needing to grab a large quantity of food for hungry people. They meet all your needs and delight the taste buds! I feel corporate lunches would be immediately jovial and successful if catered from here. Must have and reason to become a regular!

Not bad but, not what they used to be. The fritas back then were smaller and tastier. Overall I don’t think I’ll get returning.

You don’t get more authentic than El Rey de la Frita! It truly is the best frita in town & possibly anywhere. The meat and seasoning are on point and the bread it’s served on is freaky and sister. Both my husband and I had the original frita with onions and it was delicious. I also ordered a “batido de Mamey” (Mamey Shake) and it truly is the best batido anywhere.
And the service was excellent. It is a joy to go to an establishment where everyone from the server at the window to the 3 cooks, everyone was smiling, helpful, fast, efficient, and kind. The place was packed for a Saturday afternoon at 3pm.
I haven’t had a fritas in decades and I was craving one the last few weeks. I’m so happy I waited to come here. If you’re in the neighborhood (or not) come and enjoy!

The place is tiny, but the staff and food are wonderful. The ladies are always welcoming and if we don’t visit for months on end, when we come back they greet us like no time has passed and ask us where we’ve been . Best fritas hands down.

I visited the 40 street location and everything was AMAZING, the staff is so welcoming and friendly, the fritas were DELICIOUS, the orange juice the best, the mamey batido espectacular. I highly recommned this location , 5 stars !

Enjoyed the visit to this restaurant. The cuban fritas were amazing!!! Loved the counter service where you can see your fritas being freshly prepared. The tamale and mamey shake were also outstanding. Both were extremely tasty and the mamey shake wasn’t too sweet as it often is at restaurants.
