I grew up in Arlington, and for over 50 years Mario’s Pizza House and Grill has been part of my life. After all this time, it still has that same personal, welcoming feeling the moment you walk through the door — the kind of atmosphere you just can’t fake.
Their steak subs are absolutely world‑class. I’ll put them up against any major sub franchise without hesitation. The flavor, the quality, the way everything is put together — it’s on a different level. And the fact that you can get incredible pizza, amazing subs, and ice cream all under one roof makes it a place that truly stands out.
Mario’s isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a piece of Arlington’s history, and it’s still going strong!

Great place! Had a cheeseburger and a steak and cheese sub, both really good and super filling. The piña colada and mango piña colada were amazing!!

Customer service was not accommodating. I specifically requested extra sauce on my pizza. Once I got home and began to eat the pizza, it didn’t have any sauce on it. Called to share the experience with the team and to see what they could do, they did not want to issue the refund because I am 30 minutes away not able to physically bring the pizza back. Requested their information to send pictures/ videos/ or even a FaceTime call for them to see that the pizza was 95% left and Would be discarded after. The team member who I spoke with just kept repeating the same thing and would not assist with offering a refund. Definitely would not recommend this pizza place for pizza. The pizza is completely inedible.

This place was super dope! I loved the aesthetic! The service was great and the staff was very informative about how long they been around and a little about the history of the business. I got a pizza and a strawberry lemonade which was amazing! There’s sooooo many options to choose from I just got something simple to start with.

Been eating here for almost 50 years and decided to treat the family to the best pizza ever on Christmas! When the owner found out I came all the way from Switzerland to share this with my son he gifted me a Mario’s baseball cap. Mario’s is going on to its 70th year in 2026 and may it endure another 100 ! ! ! Thanks guys for an amazing experience

The staff and workers here are amazing. Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The service really stood out and made the experience even better. The beds were also very comfortable, and the room was clean and well taken care of. Overall, it was a great stay and I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Idk why there are so many recent 5 star reviews for Marios. I haven’t been here in over a decade and the quality has gone down. The steak in the steak and cheese tastes like frozen grocery meat. Super sad realizing that a local legendary spot is gone.. giving 2 stars because the service was good.

Mom started taking me to Mario’s in 1971, I was 5. As a child I remember lefty and Joe, and loved them. I returned to Arlington several years ago and lefty was still there but Joe had passed. Lefty still lives today but can no longer work. Today back in town visiting I purchased lefty’s steak sub. This place is a time machine, Lefty’s spirit lives on in the atmosphere and in the great food, and the current owner cares about the quality and the history. When in Arlington you must pay a visit.
