If I could, I’d give 4.5 stars — not a full five, but definitely better than four.
Prices have gone up but where havent prices increased.
Overall, great evg and will be back.
The fries were atrocious. They tasted like sad cardboard. Barely salted, not crispy, tough like cardboard. I’ve made better frozen fries at home.
The Caesar salad was just as bad. Wendy’s has fresher, better tasting salad than here. I would recommend going to Wendy’s if you want good salad.
I thought for $25 a burger the food would have better quality control, but save your money and go get fast food, cooked up by teenagers, which has better consistency.
The only problem is the long waiting time for the steak which is probably due to the busy service inside.
I enjoyed the meal and recommend the restaurant
Seating location was good, the booths are spacious, comfy chairs and high thick dividers that added a strong sense of privacy (very much needed to how dense the seating arrangement was).
Our waiter was serviceable, polite and charming however incredibly rushed around which is not their fault.
For appetizers we had tuna tartare and French onion soup, alongside a warm loaf of bread.
The tuna tartare was definitely the better choice, however became too sickly quick due to how oily the tuna was and the chips that accompanied it, definitely share it amongst your party due to its dense nature.
The French onion soup was okay, lacking alot of basic flavour that should be expected with such a simple dish, I wouldn’t recommend it specially if you have had homemade French onion soup, it lacked any depth or richness to the broth with very few onions too or variety.
Our mains we had a mushroom risotto with chicken and 14oz Prime Rib Steak with fries, fried onions and béarnaise sauce, also mashed potatoes.
The risotto was find, rice and mushroom cooked well, however horribly drenched in far too much truffle oil, I was surprised a steakhouse would offer such a dish, it shouldn’t. The chicken alongside the risotto was bad, poorly seasoned and overcooked.
The steak we had was questionable in quality, whilst cooked to my desire, there was more fat than meat, which is unacceptable at the price point (51 dollars), if I knew I was getting a lump of fat for dinner I’d go make my own steak for cheaper.
The béarnaise sauce was okay however was split, fries are fries however the onions were a nice touch. Mashed potatoes were somewhat dry and definitely felt old.
Portion sizes were good.
After this our waiter surprised us with a complimentary dessert due to notifying them it was out anniversary, we mentioned this in our reservation and booking was a nice feature.
He also offered us tea or coffee to which I agreed to tea however I also thought would of been complimentary since there was no notification of paying for it, yet found out I was charged 4.50 for tea
Atmosphere was loud, seating arrangement dense, and felt rushed due to seating capacity and turnover however waiter and waitresses were polite.
For the price and popularity of this place, we was left pretty underwhelmed and didn’t feel we got our money’s worth, which I guess doesn’t matter for the residents of suburban north london
