Our server greeted us nicely in the beginning, but throughout the meal it felt like we were being rushed to leave. Before we could even finish eating, he repeatedly asked if he could clear our plates. He even brought the check while we were still eating and started clearing the table right away. It felt very uncomfortable and made it hard to enjoy the meal fully.
I don’t want to call out anyone by name—he was a tall, young guy with a good build—but I sincerely hope the restaurant provides better training for their staff on how to interact with customers.
Other than the service, the food and ambiance were good.
Overall, things started off smoothly. The restaurant was clean, welcoming, and festively decorated for the holidays, which immediately earned some points. Most of the staff I encountered were friendly, upbeat, and pleasant, making the atmosphere genuinely enjoyable.
Then came the syrup situation.
Yes, I know there’s syrup on the table. But when warm pancakes arrive, logic—and breakfast law—dictates that warm syrup should follow. Cold syrup on hot pancakes is basically a countdown to disappointment. So I politely asked my server, Branay, if she could bring me warm syrup.
Her response, verbatim:
“You have to wait a minute. I have another customer I’m dealing with.”
Now… I, too, was a customer. The wording, the tone, and the implication that I should wait because another customer mattered more was extremely off-putting. It wasn’t the wait that bothered me—it was how it was communicated. A simple, more courteous response would have gone a long way. Instead, it came across dismissive and, frankly, a bit discriminatory in tone.
That single interaction spoiled what was otherwise a solid experience and is the only reason this review isn’t top-tier. I’d strongly suggest some coaching on more tactful, respectful ways to handle guest requests—especially simple ones involving syrup, not surgery.
Other than that moment, the visit was good. Clean restaurant, cheerful environment, and friendly staff overall. Fix the communication, and this location could easily be a standout.
Warm pancakes deserve warm syrup. And customers deserve warm responses.
Catherine brought two glasses of water with ice. Upon seeing the ice, I requested her if we can have the water without ice as I had flu and my friend had cough so we didn’t need ice. This is what the staff said in response “that’s fine but but next time if you need something, just tell us in one go as you are making us do the same job twice therefore tell us what you need in one go”
I actually could not believe what I heard. In my view, this was totally inappropriate and unacceptable response. When we requested for water, she didn’t ask us if we needed the water with ice or not. This response honestly was shocking and I couldn’t believe the way she spoke to us. My friend was equally shocked.
As far as the food was concerned, it was good and we enjoyed the food we ordered.
But the service from the waitress was totally unprofessional.
