O-Ku Atlanta provides a fresh and innovative take on traditional Japanese sushi and cuisine. The Midtown restaurant offers rare and unique dining options along with traditional sashimi and specialty rolls, sourcing seafood from the finest fish markets in Tokyo and Hawaii alongside local and seasonal ingredients. Reminiscent of traditional Japanese culture, O-Ku’s menu is comprised of signature starters, contemporary Japanese entrées and seasonal traditional sushi that reflect the uniquely designed space. Located in West Midtown’s Westside Ironworks development, the bustling restaurant is positioned on the east side of the main building and features a spacious rooftop and bar overlooking the Midtown skyline.
Industrial-chic haunt featuring sushi & other Japanese fare, plus a roof deck with skyline views.

From the incredible menu to the thoughtful welcome dish, O-Ku truly does everything right. This restaurant delivers some of the best hospitality and food in all of Atlanta. The toro spoons were beautifully crafted and absolutely delicious, and the signature nigiri flight was unforgettable — every piece was rich in flavor and clearly made with care. The fish was incredibly fresh and buttery, and the grilled calamari was perfectly tender with a great char and a flavorful, tangy hot sauce. The standout drink of the night was the Japanese A5 Old Fashioned — smooth, balanced, and packed with depth. This was truly one of the best dining experiences of my life, and if you love sushi, O-Ku is an absolute must-visit.

I had an amazing experience at O-Ku; it’s one of the chicest sushi spots in the city. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, and the atmosphere felt upscale but still relaxed.
The service really made the night, especially from Allena. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and honestly hilarious, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, O-Ku delivers on food, vibe, and hospitality; I’ll definitely be back.

This place is really special and provides an amazing experience, perfect for special occasion or just for romantic night.
Every dish was made with so much attention to details, was tasty and full of flavor.
We took the westside Sushi roll, the wagyu temaki, crudo flight, nigiri of yellowtail and red tuna, the marbled forest Hakozushi and edamame with truffle salt.
Everything was delicious and provides a great variety. The service was very attentive and welcoming and our waitress helped us a lot with making decision according to our preferences.

Greetings, this was my third visit to O-Ku, and unfortunately, it was nothing like my first two — which were truly top tier! On those earlier visits, (with Ling & Frebrezzio), the service was engaging, the requested recommendations for entrees & drinks were spot on & we thoroughly enjoyed it! We were even offered complimentary items to try! We always share our dining experiences with family & friends. Because of those great experiences, I chose O-Ku to celebrate my birthday this year instead of our usual favorite, Poor Calvin’s. Wow, that turned out to be a big mistake.
We visited on New Year’s Eve for the special omakase menu, and both the service and the food were deeply underwhelming. For an experience that is meant to showcase the chef’s creativity and hospitality, it felt impersonal, and uninspired. The courses did not stand out, the interaction was not like our previous visits, nothing about the evening felt special — despite clearly marking the reservation as a birthday celebration.
For the price we paid, our expectations were simply not met. The acknowledgment of the occasion was lackluster, no sense of celebration, and no effort to make the evening memorable. Instead of leaving feeling appreciated, we left disappointed and confused by the dramatic drop in quality and hospitality from our previous visits.
While the sushi itself remains good, this experience changed how we view O-Ku. We may stop by for lunch occasionally, but we would no longer choose it for a special occasion.

Phenomenal. I spoke to Christy (Manager) about how in awe I was of our amazing experience. 3 friends and I came in to celebrate a birthday and as someone who has eaten at many atlanta staples, I see that this is something special. Not only was everything, and I mean everything delicious, the service was top-notch, attentive, personable, polite. I literally wanted to invite our servers Ruth and Arsemma to come eat with us.
The Sampler crudo was the BEST crudo i’ve had in a. long time and I’m half fish so you can believe me when i say that. The menu is so tastefully made. Many places will have too much in a dish, but they reuse staple ingredients in different ways.
This is the kind of place where I don’t mind adding things to the bill, because I know I had an experience not just a meal.

Came in with a few friends tonight and the service was slow but our waitress was kind. I got the chicken teriyaki dish and quickly noticed it was lukewarm, so requested it be heated up. The waitress returned and let me know it had been tossed out since it had been eaten off of and they were making it fresh for me. It came back out about 5 mins later and was not at all like my first dish. My first dish, although not hot, was still good and was a clear chicken breast that had been sliced and arranged nicely. What I got back was chunks of chicken on top of each other and the quality was not good at all, very fatty and gristly. I assume it was scraps from other breast they had cut throughout the night because of the quality and how quickly it came out. I honestly didn’t feel comfortable making another complaint because I rarely send anything back, and it clearly wasn’t received well the first time. I attached a photo of the leftover chicken after I cut off the decent parts, and what’s left is more than half of the chicken I was given. I just hope in the future they don’t cut corners if a customer has an issue with their meal.

Visiting Atlanta, met a friend who lives here on a Sunday night. Allena was one of the best servers I’ve ever had, hands-down…and I have worked industry for 11 yrs. She gave spot-on recommendations, was attentive, but not overbearing, so pleasant & adorable. She was training someone else, but managed to look after our table with so much attention & care. I’m only in town til Wed, and already want to bring my co-worker & friends here!

Had a great experience at O-Ku on a Friday night. I arrived right at 5pm, when they were supposed to open, but the doors were locked. They let me in at 5:02 and were super apologetic about the “delay”. It really was not an issue for me at all (it was literally 2 min) but the hostess, server, and assistant manager all came to apologize. They offered a free crudo and comp’d one of my drinks. That was not necessary but appreciated. The food was GREAT. EXCELLENT experience all the way around.

The service was great! We were greeted as soon as we walked in. I’ve had two rolls the California Baja Roll 10/10 and the salmon roll was a 8/10. The cocktail. There’s also valet parking about $5 and the valet gentleman was very nice and respectful. He even took our pictures for us. Overall experience was great and I will definitely be back again.

My sister has been begging me to try this place for a while, and I am SO glad I finally did. We were here for a farewell party for a friend that’s moving out of country, and Ok-u made the occasion feel so tailored and so so special.
Allena was our server and she was PHENOMENAL. Super attentive, hilarious, not overbearing at all, and exceptional menu knowledge. Honestly, she’s one of the best servers I’ve had at any restaurant!!
The restaurant did special menus for the party, the manager came and checked on us a couple times, Allena brought out a complimentary dessert for us – everything just felt really personalized and genuine. The food was no less – probably the best sushi I’ve had in the Atlanta area (and we eat a lot of sushi!)
Only docked points from atmosphere because it was pretty loud. People were clearly enjoying themselves, we just generally visit quieter restaurants in the suburbs. Having said that, I will happily be driving an hour each way to eat here again!!!
