The Garlic is a cozy Killington gem, perfect after a day on the slopes. The rustic vibe, garlic braids, and warm lighting make it feel like a classic mountain trattoria.

The food was fantastic, especially for vegetarians. The fresh bread with garlic butter was addictive, and the artichoke dip was fabulous. The creamy mushroom penne was rich but balanced, the veggie pasta was super comforting, and the chocolate mousse was the perfect finish, light, silky, and indulgent.

Big shoutout to our server Matt, who took amazing care of us. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, he made the whole experience even better.

Great food, cozy atmosphere, and standout service. Definitely coming back next ski trip.

The Garlic does NOT disappoint. I figured I was in for a treat when I arrived at opening and was challenged with parking near by and saw the line in front of the building.
Word to the wise…. Go to the back door tucked away at the Olive bar entrance. We bellied right up to the bar. Ordered a bottle of Montepulciano d’Abrruzo (reasonable at $40) and was swiftly treated with garlic and bread. An amazing start….. there is a tapas menu, I ordered tuna tartare, marinated mushrooms and the escargot. Followed up my home run meal with clams over linguine.
I was very pleased with all my food. The bar is busy. Many are having drinks waiting for tables. Hats off to the bartenders that were hustling to make our experience Devine.

We stayed at Aprés Inn, which is a 2-minute walk to The Garlic. We took heed of the advice to get there before doors open at 5pm. We were first on line at 4:45 and by 4:55 there were several folks waiting behind us. We got a wonderful booth and were immediately served. Atmosphere is cozy and like being in a grotto.

The fresh bread with roasted whole garlic, Parmesan and olive oil was so good and they brought us a second baguette as we had mussels and spinach Italiano to start. Good selection of beverages – local brews on draft. The kid’s menu has a choice between a pasta dish – linguine or penne with marinara, butter or puttanesca – with meat balls as an add on. It is a lot of food for a kid and we brought back leftovers. My husband enjoyed his ahi tuna with potatoes and roasted tomato. My chicken piccata was perfectly cooked and flavorful with the capers. We were full, but could not resist ordering the tiramisu. The tiramisu was light and not overly sweet with drizzle of chocolate, lady fingers with a dash of espresso.

Definitely worth coming back next time we come out to ski in Killington.

Garlic has the best food in the area! They open at 5 and that’s why there is usually a line as soon as they open. I recommend getting there as soon as they open to avoid a long wait. I could eat just the bread & garlic they serve & I’d be happy. The drinks are good & have been consistent. I’ve had the shrimp tapas, meatball sliders, & a few other tapas; all of them have been good. This time we all tried a few different pasta dishes & they were good as well. If I lived closer I would definitely come back here more often.

Great food.
Love the roasted garlic with the complimentary bread
Pork osso buco 10/10
Artichoke dip 9/10 (only reason its a 9/10 is cuz i am being picky and dont prefer the thin crunchy baguette slices)
Server (jaymie) was super nice gave great recommendations and even boxed up our leftovers for us.

I traveled all the way from Virginia to spend a weekend in Vermont and decided to stop by Garlic Restaurant — and I’m so glad I did! I was very surprised by the quality of the food and the excellent service. The staff was wonderful, and I had my meal at the bar where Dave took great care of me. His happiness and humor made the experience even better. Highly recommend!

The servers/hostess were all pleasant making it easy to enjoy the good food and nice ambience at Garlic. A fun and unique experience at the generally tastefully themed restaurant after a long day at the slopes. I recommend if your in town but don’t expect NY level fine dining. But just fine for a night in the cozy town of Killington.

**Note: the chocolate tart we got served as dessert was mis-advertised as a „mousse“. Though a faux pas in my eyes, the tart was still pretty electric.

Edit: revised this winter, still the best in town! Love the lamb chops

Before you read my review below , I want you to consider the difficulty to running an establishment like this 365 days at this location is quite challenging. I would normally give it a 4 stars, but considering the location and its competitors, a solid 5 stars is a must.

I’ve stayed at an Airbnb near Killington a few times for skiing, and to say the restaurant scene here is “average” would be generous. Last time, while driving past this restaurant with its massive garlic statue and a line of people waiting outside, I knew I had to give it a try.

The next day, I found out it operates on a first-come, first-served basis, which explains the early line. If you’re not a fan of waiting, don’t worry—it’s worth it.

The Garlic has a charming, cozy atmosphere, with decor that makes it feel like a rustic farmhouse in winter, creating a warm and inviting experience. Service is friendly and efficient, and the food is consistently great. While the pasta was a bit underwhelming—not bad, just not particularly exciting—the veal and steaks were cooked to perfection. The eggplant Parmesan looked surprisingly light and fresh, the wine selection was solid, and the dessert was simply delightful. Did I mentioned the garlic spread bread?

This restaurant has completely changed my perception of dining in this area, and I’ll definitely be coming back for more.

Went on a very busy night during (NY) Feb break at 5:30. Highly recommend arriving before open at 5pm or wait until 6:30/7. We happened to walk in right before a crowd and they were quoted 30-45 minutes. Given how busy they were, the staff was friendly, attentive, organized and helping each other. Drinks came out fast which wasn’t necessary, but most appreciated. Complimentary warm bread with roasted garlic, olive oil and balsamic was a thoughtful touch. Appetizers were delicious – calamari was crispy and plentiful, artichoke dip was creamy and flavorful, Caesar salad side portion was still big and dressing clearly made onsite. Entrees also arrived quickly, portions well worth the price. The only miss was the penne à la vodka, flavorful but texture odd. This is a great choice if you want something other than burgers and chicken fingers.

Great bar/bar area for dinner, and the music was on point! We enjoyed some cozy pasta dishes(forgot to take pics) and a couple of dirty martinis. Out bartender/server, Abby, was super cool too!
