Reviews
Reuben- nice size and flavor
Loaded potato- huge!! But kind of dry- needs more butter or something
Panini sandwich- filling but kind of bland
I usually get the salad bar but skipped today.
Staff was nice and helpful, and plenty of seating for guests. Good for large groups or singles.
Don’t forget the ice cream cone!
Honestly, the family ate here and everyone got exactly what they like, how they like it.
The complimentary soft serve machine proved a hit for the kids too.
I’ll be back in a minute next time the fridge is a little empty yet I need a fresh meal!
Issue:
• Inconsistent policy enforcement: I was told I could not order a side salad by itself, despite having done so many times before and even being shown how to ring it up by a manager the previous week.
• Poor management interaction: The manager, Alexis, addressed the situation with an annoyed tone and dismissed my explanation rather than clarifying or resolving the issue professionally.
• Customer service breakdown: After my visit, I confirmed that corporate policy allows side salads to be purchased separately, making the experience unnecessarily frustrating and embarrassing.
I’m writing this review because I had a very disappointing and embarrassing customer service experience today involving a staff member who I later learned is the manager, Alexis.
Normally, this location is a great experience and I recommend it all the time. I’ve been coming here for years. However, today I was made to feel uncomfortable and talked down to over something that has never been an issue before.
I ordered a side salad, which I’ve done many times in the past. I often get the all-you-can-eat salad bar, but on occasion I just want a side salad on its own. When I placed my order, a cashier I hadn’t worked with before told me I was required to purchase another item with the side salad. I politely explained that this hasn’t been the case in the past and that just last week a manager showed a cashier how to ring up a side salad by itself.
At that point, Alexis stepped in and stated that this was “their policy.” When I tried to clarify and referenced the manager who had helped me earlier in the week, she replied with an annoyed tone, “You mean my coworker?”
After my visit, I looked up Jason’s Deli’s corporate policy and confirmed that side salads are allowed to be purchased separately. This made the interaction even more disappointing, as the situation could have been handled with basic courtesy and consistency.
This is one of the best salad bars in the city, and I genuinely like this location. That’s why this experience stood out so much. Today, they really missed the mark on customer service, and unfortunately, it came from management.
