Never eating here again.
I went in to order two bowls to go, and from the beginning, the vibe was off. I was being served by a guy with tribal tattoos on his arms (Matthew). For the first bowl, I asked for steak. He gave me a tiny scoop—maybe 8 little pieces—so I politely asked for more. He looked annoyed and said, “I’ll get in trouble for this,” but eventually gave me what looked like a regular portion. Why not just serve the correct amount to begin with?
Then I asked for barbacoa on the second bowl. He literally scraped the bottom of the container for leftovers and meat juice. No real chunks—just bits and liquid. I debated whether to say something, especially after already having to ask for more steak. But I spoke up and said it wasn’t enough. He took the bowl over to the online order station, saw there was no more meat, and with attitude, said it would be three minutes for fresh barbacoa. I told him I’d wait.
While I was waiting, I asked if he was okay because of the clear attitude he was giving me. I had been polite the entire time and couldn’t understand why I was being treated like a problem. He then dumped all the leftover meat juice into my bowl and asked if I “still wanted more.” I said yes. He sarcastically asked, “What’s the difference between what I’m giving you and the meat that’s coming out?” I told him, “You didn’t give me meat—you gave me juice and scraps. I want chunks of meat.”
The customer next to me—being served by the girl with the two buns—got a massive serving of meat without even asking for more. So why was I being shorted and treated differently?
Eventually, the guy brought out the fresh barbacoa from the back and added a good amount, but the attitude continued. Then the girl with two buns on her head told me I’d be charged extra. I was honestly shocked—why should I be charged extra when all I did was ask for the proper serving in the first place, after being given liquid and leftovers?
I paid, left, and realized the bowl was leaking all over my car seat because of all the juice. The paper bag tore and I had to put the bowl on the floor to keep it from getting worse. I walked back in to get napkins and talk to the manager. (Eva)
But before I could even explain what happened, the girl with the buns ran over and got to the manager first, painting me out like I came in just to complain. When I finally got a chance to speak, the manager had clearly already made up her mind. She stood by the staff’s version of the story, offered no apology, and simply said she could give me customer service info and her name. She did ask if I wanted the bowl remade, but I told her no—I was too focused on cleaning up the mess in my car.
Let me be clear: this wasn’t just about portion sizes. This was about being disrespected, dismissed, and treated unfairly for calmly asking for a proper serving of food I paid for. The way I was handled by the staff was completely out of line, and the manager’s lack of accountability just made it worse.
I’ve always been respectful every time I come in, and I expect the same in return. I hope this gets the attention of someone who actually cares about how customers are treated.
To go but the others just stand around. Someone in line in front of me complained to the workers and they literally laughed at her.
I got one but sad to say this location needs some work. The food was less than fresh. The sofritas mix was dry and looked old. The grilled vegetables were empty.
The line was a dirty mess! It should be wiped down in between each order made but I had to ask for it to be wiped down before my order was touched. And the employee who did wipe it down truly didn’t look like he knew what he was doing.
They were accommodating when I said there was a food allergy and they made sure to use clean utensils and change out their gloves.
Management really needs to pay attention to the cleaning of this location! For the amount of employees behind the line; there should not have been the dirty tables and empty ice machine either.
