The short ribs and burger were fantastic! Three of us shared bites of our food so we could all enjoy both entrees. Two of us got ribs and one of us a mushroom burger. All come with delicious fries, too. The atmosphere was spectacular – decorated for Valentine’s Day, and the service was top-notch. This place must win many awards! Wow!!

The holiday decorations were wonderful for Christmas and loved the wrap around train for the seating in the back. Food was reasonably priced for Bay ridge with friendly and fast service. The calamari was not super crispy but the crispy chicken sandwich made up for it.

I made my way to Skinflints with my family while visiting NY for the Holidays. The burger is still very good. The service was very good. Just don’t bring a service animal and ask to purchase some food to feed it. I’ve traveled all over the country with my son and his service dog. We have never been denied food or water for him. I understand it needs to be fed in a disposable dish, but we are shocked we were denied food and water. But I guess there’s a first time for everything. Leave it to NY to set a precedent. Back home to the free state of Florida where we’ve never been denied. Food was still good. Our server was very apologetic, thank you.

This is a nice bar/restaurant in Bay Ridge which is currently celebrating its 50th year in business. The place was clean & the staff were friendly & polite. It’s pretty well known for its hamburgers being served in English muffins. Though they’re not the only items on the menu. The chicken pot pie is amazing. I need to thank Rob the bartender for that recommendation. Apparently they only make a limited amount of them daily & sell out every day. The bar has some interesting decorations & has booths for dining as well as being able to eat at the bar. There is also a separate dining area suitable for larger groups. They also make plates to go. So if you’re planning to binge watch the 1st half of Wednesday season 2 & don’t want the same old delivery options they’ve got you covered. I went with the half rack of ribs & mashed potatoes for my take out option.

Classic pub food in a cozy atmosphere.

The burger I ordered was prepared perfectly and came out lightning quick.

Prices are extremely fair.

I was dining solo and sat at the bar. The bartender was very attentive.

Already fully decorated for Christmas.

Spent some time in NY for work and thanks to the diverse menu and fun atmosphere, Skinflints was my go-to for dinner most of the week.
I enjoyed every meal, but my favorite was the shepherds pie.
The little train running through the restaraunt was a fun touch.

Came in on a Saturday night so it was pretty lively (loud) but still cozy. Chicken pot pie was amazing some of the flakiest crust I’ve ever had, definitely recommend for a cold night

Skinflints is truly a delightful spot that exceeded all my expectations. I visited during the day and was immediately charmed by the welcoming atmosphere and beautifully curated décor, which changes with the seasons and holidays—such a thoughtful and festive touch that adds to the overall experience.

I started my meal with a cheerful mimosa, which was perfectly balanced and refreshing. For my main dish, I ordered the steak and eggs with a side of sweet potato fries. The steak was cooked exactly to my liking—tender, flavorful, and satisfying. The eggs were just right, and the sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a hint of natural sweetness that paired wonderfully with the savory steak.

One of the unexpected highlights was the English muffins served with butter. They were warm, soft, and comforting—such a simple pleasure that left a lasting impression.

The service was friendly and attentive, making the entire experience feel even more special. Whether you’re stopping in for brunch, lunch, or just a relaxing drink, Skinflints is the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates good food and great vibes.

10/28/25:
Wasn’t a busy night. No refill on water or my daughters beverage.
Had to get up and get the dessert menu.
Not happy the waiter ended up comping my daughters dessert for her birthday rather than removing the cocktail shrimp charge. My daughter didn’t like the shrimp, we had them take away the plate with 3 left, we each ate 1. Waiter asked if we wanted it rapped I said no she wasn’t happy with the shrimp.
For future, give me the option…
