Great place to eat when you are near the VA Hospital or on base.
Since there are not many cons, let’s start with them.
Cons:
The potato was a little raw
The place was freezing! Probably because we were the first customers, they didn’t have the heater on. They turn it on later.
Location (be prepared to see unhoused people around)
Pro:
Great portions
The place was pretty clean
Service excellent
The food was great.
Plenty of parking spaces
Angel was great! I won’t go out of my way to go there, but if youare in the area, stop by for sure.

This is a great cozy little restaurant with home style, cooked meals and very generous portions. The staff is friendly and they tend to you fairly quickly for as busy as they are! It was pretty good. I got the chicken fried steak boss style. It was good having the green chile and gravy together and the cheese on top was a nice touch. It came with a good salad and sides.

One of the worst breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. They use the fake butter and butter flavored oil on things. The eggs were overcooked, the corned beef hash I thought would include actual meat but it’s like the concept of corned beef hidden inside hashbrowns. No flavor. The bread had the butter flavored oil on it. Everything was just mushy, lacked flavor, and was gross. I had to throw it away.

Off of Gibson near the airport, reminds me of Cracker Barrel; home country cooking. Came for brunch before the No Kings protest, atmosphere was welcome, cozy, and inviting, like a warm hug. We walked in, and noticed a sign saying “please wait to be seated”, even though there were several tables available—we waited 15 minutes at the bench for a place to sit. We sat at a table in the middle of the restaurant as we got served. I noticed our server used the words “my friends” a lot when serving us, felt kind of odd, but very friendly. I decided to have the short stack (pancakes). They were huge, and very hearty and delicious. Great breakfast, and overall hit the spot before heading downtown to dethrone our king 🙂

I had to wait a day to write this review so that I could write not based off emotions but facts. Yesterday I called at 1215 to ask what soups were being offered for the day. The gentleman that answered the phone told me that there were 3 soups, chicken, potato and a vegetable beef. I stated I would call back to place an order, as I needed to let co-workers know the soup options and collect orders. I called back at 1235 pm to place a pick up order, I work across the street and have a 30 min lunch window. Placing the order was a mess itself and this should have been my 1st sign to not go here. The lady that answered the phone told me the only soup being offered was potato and I tried to explain to her I had just called to check what soups. Anywho I place an order for 2 sandwiches, a tuna melt and a French dip both with sides of soup. I get there about 1245 and paid. The total was 29.58. At 12:58 I asked if the food was ready by any chance as I needed to get back to work. Patricia that lovely woman at the front went to go check in the kitchen. As she was back there I could hear her asking where the food was and the back kitchen staff had no clue what she was talking about. At this point I just told her I would like my money back and I needed to get back to work. At this point a man steps in and asks what was going on, very rudely. Turns out this unpleasant man runs the place. He asked what I wanted and I told him at this point I want my money back and was clearly upset, as I just wasted my entire lunch break and still hungry. From here things just progressively got worse, he was so rude and making all theses excuses as to why this happened. At this point no words were going to make up for this. Waited for a refund, when he said I could just go. So glad I waited cuz at first they just tried to refund for one sandwich, he couldn’t even use the POS and had to get one of the other waitress to come help. So tell me why today what was supposed to be a refund, now shows as a double charge on my statement. SO I was charged 60 dollars for NO FOOD??!!

Lovely, quiet spot for breakfast or lunch. Brought my sister for brunch after picking her up from the airport…very convenient. Our server was pleasant. We enjoyed their fresh coffee. My husband had the cinnamon roll and a side of bacon. He said the cinnamon roll was scrumptious and better than the local competition. My sister had the carnival plate. She said it was delish…it looked really good. I had the huevos rancheros which were very good with my eggs being cooked a perfect over medium. The restaurant is quaint, fairly quiet and clean. We all thought that the portions were a great value for our money. We’ll be back!
