Great place to stop along the 550 – the food is very good with real red chilis. The patio area is very cool and atmosphere is awesome.

This a beautiful restaurant, clean and right off the main street. Ample parking.
We popped in after a recommendation while traveling on a camping adventure…

I visited this restaurant on January 12, 2025, with my parents and my partner. My parents have always enjoyed dining here, and I thought it would be a wonderful experience, especially since my partner had never tried authentic New Mexican cuisine before.

While the food was absolutely delicious, our experience was somewhat marred by the service. Our server seemed more focused on the bar area, which made us feel a bit overlooked. Additionally, our cups weren’t clean—particularly my coffee cup, which appeared to have been rinsed but not properly washed. This raised concerns about cleanliness.

We didn’t receive the customary chips and salsa from our server, but thankfully, another staff member brought them over and informed us that they cost $5. After placing our order, our server didn’t engage much with us, which left me wondering about the quality of our food. However, to my pleasant surprise, everything we ordered tasted fantastic!

I appreciated the overall quality of the food enough to leave a tip of over 20%. I do believe the restaurant could benefit from improved service and cleaner dishes. I plan to return in the future, as the chips and salsa are a must-try, and I absolutely loved the green chili and sopapilla. I’m looking forward to a better experience next time!

Quickly greeted and seated. My waiter was quick to bring my drink and take my order. The food was tasty although there was something about the rice. I did not care for the flavor. The sopapilla with honey was delicious. I had an early dinner but the place began filling up and was quite lively. It’s neat that they were selling dried chilies to support the wrestling team.

This was the first place restaurant we visited in New Mexico prior to hiking the Pueblo Alto loop and I must admit that we were a little letdown. Despite the extremely high reviews, we found everything here to be basic (from the food to the service)…not bad @ all but definitely nothing special. The red salsa was the best thing imo. However, this place did seem to be pretty popular as it was becoming packed as we were leaving so maybe it’s just not to our tastes.

Great food, cozy atmosphere, and attentive staff.
The salsa and red chile were both spicy and flavorful, and the sopapillas and honey were delicious!
