Drinks: I always order a hot coco at every cafe because if you mess up hot coco it’s not a good sign. The hot coco was good but I was disappointed they don’t make their own whipped cream. The lavender ice latte was great!
Food: omg that banana bread is a MUST and I wish I had the recipe!! Bagel was great too – would be better with a spicy mayo or aioli.
Decent amount of seating and I loved people watching here.
Still a wonderful venue to spend a quiet hour in the morning. Highly recommend!
We were visitors of the city and this was close to our hotel. So glad we came upon it!
The building from the outside was cool and the inside/ambiance was lovely! Wouldn’t mind if we had to stay a little longer but we had a tour to catch
The service was average and the coffee and food were about the same. What made it stay out was the interior.
I had a fantastic bagel sandwich. You’d have to go to NYC to get better. I also had a tea. A lot of times that’s a gamble because places tend to serve crappy tea, but my jasmine green tea was good.
The reason I can’t give this place 5 stars is the staff.
You can tell staff has their generation’s “I didn’t ask to be born” attitude. “It sucks that I have to be here at a job putting up with customers when someone should be paying me to hike, ski, or play video games all day.” …and they do give off that vibe. Very impatient with customers. They seem to have not sense of customer service, helpfulness, or patience.
If you can put up with the staff, then this place is great!
Also, I highly discourage tipping at this place (you are asked for a tip as you order). Not only for the reasons that I said above, but all they do is earn their $20ish an hour getting you drinks and making sandwiches. You order standing up and then wait at the counter (standing) for your stuff. Staff doesn’t help you select stuff off the menu when you say it’s your first time (they direct you to the menus by the door because it would bother them to help you decide or tell you what’s popular).
