To note, everything is made from scratch here including the breads, grits, fruit compotes, syrup and gravies.
Sam was our waitress and she was a delight.
My sister in law ordered the egg, pancake and bacon breakfast a d enjoyed it very much.
My brother got the sausage and egg sandwich, with an extra egg on the Fireside’s homemade rye bread. It was large and tasty and he loved the homemade stone ground grits.
I ordered the little pigs (4 link sausage rolled i to pancakes) “sloppy” , meaning covered in their homemade sausage gravy. Oh my delicious!
The coffee reminded me of that which my grandmother brewed in the old metal coffee pot on the stove. Rich and delicious.
We ordered a loaf of their homemade rye bread to take home.
The Fireside. The BEST breakfast in town!
Picture don’t always speak volumes now-a-days, but these do! First time visiting this spot on September 2025. Breakfast should universally be served until 2pm.
I had the Thursday special Chorizo omelette, which came with 3 pancakes and coffee. Husband got the meat lover’s omelette which came with grits and a biscuit. We split an order of blueberry pancakes between our 7 and 8 yo daughters and it was plenty for both of them. My 8yo son (who eats like a horse ) had the western omelette, which also came with grits and a biscuit, and ate almost all of it. Our two toddler boys ate the three pancakes from my meal, as well as bits of my husband’s omelette, and both of them were full when we were finished! Our bill was a little over $50. So a great value for our size family (7 people).
