Reviews
The dishes have some heat and the green sauce has a nice flavor.
The greeters are friendly and our waitress (also the bartender) was very helpful in making our decision-she is a good listener.
Great place to enjoy a great meal and warm up on this unusually cold day!!!
Wondered in off the beaten trail in Clearwater and found ourselves in an authentic feeling Mexican restaurant. The drinks were a bit higher than most local establishments but the guacamole was stellar. It was the perfect blend of spice and complexity. The Queso Fundido tasted more like a base of white gravy (Think sausage gravy with no sausage) and the corn chips tasted like old oil. All and all probably would not come back but if you have to have Mexican food while in Clearwater it’s not the worst thing you could do.
On the positive side, the service was excellent, very attentive, friendly, and cooperative. The restaurant was also very clean, and the overall ambiance was pleasant at first glance.
However, two aspects stood out negatively first, the noise level. The restaurant was very busy, which is usually a good sign, but there is little to no sound insulation. Between the loud conversations and the music, the noise was so loud that it became uncomfortable. If you’re looking for a calm, tranquil dining experience, this may not be the right place.
The second issue was the food. I’m not an expert in Mexican cuisine, but it’s one of my favorites. To avoid any mistakes, we ordered classic fajitas, and burritos Unfortunately, the seasoning was very different from what we expected. My wife ended up returning her dish in its entirety. The rice tasted like boxed rice rather than freshly prepared, and the beans were excessively seasoned. The waitress explained that the food is more of a Southern Mexican fusion, which helped us realize our expectations didn’t align with the restaurant’s concept.
In my case, the food was fresh but nothing special. Overall, while the service and cleanliness were excellent, the noise level and the food did not meet our expectations. Personally, I wouldn’t return, though others who enjoy this style of food and a lively atmosphere may appreciate it.
