I’ve been here several times. They have amazing donuts. I LOVE their donut holes. I placed an order for my wedding a few years back several months in advance. I called a month before to confirm the order and they had no record. No problem took the order again. I called a week before. Same thing had to take the order again. Day of I send someone to pick up and they have no record of my order again. Had to come up with a fix in 2 hours on my wedding day with Jack’s Donuts. They saved the day. Now a few months ago and last night I left a voicemail to place an order because you can only place orders that way. No human is ever available. Both times they didn’t have items for my order. That’s fine but they didn’t use the number that we were told to leave to offer replacements or let us know. Also gave us the wrong items. So both times people were not given any food and we had to go somewhere else. It’s amazing food with TERRIBLE service. They are kind but they suck at operating smoothly. Creates more stress than they’re worth. You can only get an order correct if you stand in the freezing cold until 2 AM.

I was told this was something my family had to experience. They open at 1:00 a.m., so we got out of bed, and got there at 1:12. There was a line, and it was raining. Fortunately we have umbrellas in the car.
The wait wasn’t too bad, and we got into what looked like a small, old bakery lobby. The person at the counter took our order, and answered our questions. We got a dozen donuts, an apple fritter, a small order of donut holes, and a couple of drinks. It was all under $20!
We had some of the donuts in the parking lot before we left. They were good.
Overall it was a fun experience that I recommend. The variety of donuts was different than most donut shops. While I liked the donuts, I wouldn’t say they tasted spectacular. They were good, and I completely recommend the experience.

Dan’s Variety Bakery is a must-stop. Fresh, homemade pastries and donuts, great selection, and consistently excellent quality. Friendly service and fair prices. Everything tastes like it was made with care. A local classic done right.

Amazing donuts. Fluffy dough and flavors to expect. Pick up requires calling the night before and getting up early, but these donuts are worth it. Tried the maple donut and blueberry cake. Yum!

Such soft and fluffy cake donuts, absolutely delicious! And the price? 1.20 for almost every donut there! Thats an absolute steal with how good these are, I will definitely will be a repeat customer.

I was extremely disappointed to go in tonight, a little before 3am, and find only maybe seven donuts in selection. Over half of the display case was empty and they said it wouldn’t be filled back up until 7am, maybe. Depending on orders; apparently that is their main focus now. I remember being able to walk in at any time and have a VARIETY of donuts to choose from. Man, I grabbed one little cake strawberry donut because I didn’t want to waste my drive but this will be my last visit. Such a bummer.

The best donuts in Kokomo are found right here! Was it worth waiting in a line at 1AM? Absolutely. It’s cash or check only, and it turns out that the line definitely dies down around 2AM. We kind of dug into the donuts before I remembered to snap a picture.

Hands down the best donuts in town! They open at 1 am and the donuts are hot and fresh. Only complaint is the selection gets slim around 8-9 am if there are any left at all.
