I enjoy this place, I gave it three stars because they are very tight on food portions esp with the lobster meals at their price. Kim is such a wonderful waitress! The female og bartender always make the drinks right! The space is small but clean and feels safe.
The lobster lasagna is good just need more meat.
The crab cakes could be way better, it was fried hard and had a tangy taste.
The mash potatoes and corn relish are good!

Caught these guys as they were doing a segment on the local news channel and the food looked good so thought we would give them a try. Boy, I’m glad we did. Fun little spot in Royal Oaks Which, being fairly new to the area I found to be a very cool and vibrant area. Anyway, we found this to be an overall outstanding experience. We started out with a couple of appetizers, the lobster fries, and the lobster sushi pizza. The lobster pizza was full of flavor and truly delicious. The lobster fries were good as well, although the lobster on them seem to be a little overcooked in my opinion, but we still finished out the entire plate. We then moved on to a lobster bisque. That was thick creamy and delicious. I figured since they were doing the February lobster month I would stick with that theme and so for my entrée I ordered the lobster tower with waffle. Man, this was outstanding. It had both fried shrimp and fried lobster tail, very generous portion size and with the spicy mayonnaise and hot honey was excellent. Way wife did the grouper which she said was delicious as well. Overall, the restaurant presents a great environment. It would be a great place to meet up with friends or for a date night like we did. If I had to come up with any complaint, it would simply be the size of the table. Because it’s just two of us it was a relatively small table, but we’d like to try a lot of stuff on the menu sometimes requires a little bit larger of a table fortunately, the service was so great and they kept Up with clearing the table and ensuring that we had ample amount of space for what we were ordering. The food came out timely, they kept our drinks refreshed, and checked in with us regularly. Will definitely be back!

Our waitress was amazing and made sure to keep our drink refills coming without being asked. She helped us choose an amazing appetizer also.
The witches brew was really good and the drink being set on fire gave the perfect Halloween vibe. The shrimp and lobster lasagna was amazing!! The cheese pull and richness of the lasagna was perfect cozy food for the Fall. The crab dip was full of lump crab and worth the money. The gnocchi pasta had very little crab for $46, so that was disappointing. Also, the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 for the food. It would have been my favorite dish if it had more crab because the flavor of the dish was savory and delicious. The carrot cake definitely aligned with the hype!!

The place is small… It’s like one full restaurant was split into two and it literally was, lol. The service was a little slow but the food made up for it. Side note: we waited about 25 minutes for our entrees… I’ve never waited that long before. Back to the food…..it was great and the waiter was accommodating. We had a party of 3. It was a birthday dinner. We arrived at a busy time on a Saturday… About 5:00pm. I ordered a California Roll. It was a good size. Normally, when I purchase it some where else, it has little crunchy pieces of deliciousness on top. The waiter informed me that theirs didn’t have the crunchy deliciousness on top so he offered to put bread crumbs on top and I loved that idea. At the end of our meal, the waiter surprised us with a rainbow cheesecake to help us continue celebrating. I would definitely visit here again. What I did not get a picture of was the fry appetizer. It was amazing! It was basically French fries and pieces of fried lobster with spicy mayo and sour cream dancing across them. It was really good!

The Grand Tower was absolutely delicious, especially the oysters. The other members of my party’s entrees looked delicious and everyone said their food was fantastic.

A really fantastic Saturday night out! Yes, they were very busy, but the entire staff; from the manager all the way to the food runner were engaged in making sure that everyone was cared for and having a great time! Food was delicious and drinks were great! Thank you for a great holiday season night out!

Overall good experience. We went for the crab fest in October. The crab lasagna and crab ragoons was the best.
The salmon was dry and the gnocchi soup bowl wasnt really a soup. It was very thick and dense; as well as the bread bowl. The carrot cake was not worth it at all. It taste nothing like carrot cake and it was very dry.

This place offers a good experience, but it didn’t fully live up to the hype for me. The seafood was fresh and well-prepared, though some dishes felt a bit overpriced for the portion sizes. The oysters were good, but not particularly memorable.
Service was friendly but inconsistent, and while the atmosphere is lively and upscale, it can get quite noisy during busy hours. Overall, it’s a decent spot for seafood if you’re nearby, but there’s room for improvement to make it truly stand out.

This was by far the worse food I’d have since I’ve been back in Michigan. I got the pasta it taste like they didn’t season anything it was very milky. They only gave me 2 shrimp for a dish that was a seafood dish the muscles tasted undercooked and unseasoned. The oyster rockafella was also horrible very bland with barely any spinach or bacon in it the calamari was garbage I hated it the only positive thing I have to say about this restaurant was the server nick he was great! Save your money I paid a total of 160 dollars to not even be able to eat dinner because of how disgusting it was. I had high hopes for this place and it’s completely horrible

Hard to believe but I think this was my first visit to Tom’s Oyster Bar. It was tough to come up with an overall star rating for this review because it was a mixed bag. I would probably give it a 2.5 if I could but decided to round up to 3. My wife and I met friends here for dinner and enjoyed our table outside on a beautiful evening. Our server was very friendly and attentive. After ordering drinks (more on this to follow) we ordered our meals. My wife only had the appetizer crab cake as her meal. I ordered a bowl of clam chowder and a lobster roll. My friends had the crab cake dinner and perch dinner. When there was no sign of my soup I told the waitress when she walked by that I would like my soup before my entree. (Side note. Doesn’t this go without saying because this has happened to me a few times lately). She said sure, let me get that for you. A couple minutes later a server arrives with our entrees. I told the server that my soup never arrived. A couple minutes later my soup arrives. Bad start. The clam chowder I must say was excellent. Our server told me she would take the soup off the bill which she did. My wife thought the crab cake was good…not the best she has had but good. I thought my lobster roll was pretty average. Fries that came with as a no upcharge add were great. Our friends both enjoyed their meals The bill arrives and upon review I am shocked by the price of my Tito’s on the rocks…a new record for the most I have ever been charged in Michigan for a Tito’s on the rocks and that includes places like Capital Grill and highest end restaurants in the city and Tom’s is a rather pedestrian neighborhood seafood joint certainly not a “Michelin Star” restaurant or anywhere close to that to warrant a drink price like that. The Tito’s was $12 and $4.80 upcharge for on the rocks. It’s not at all unusual to see an upcharge for rocks but I have never seen a $4.80 upcharge. I have never seen $16.80 for a Titos on the rocks in Michigan. Only place I have paid that is in New York City. It wasn’t even a huge pour either. Tom’s manager needs to check the market and get his drink prices in line. I don’t care about the $5ish “overcharge” on the drink….its the principle. And with the food being nothing to rave about, that obscene drink price is enough for me to not return to Tom’s.
