Feb 2026 update- this place PISSED me off! I decided to come back for a second time and it will be my absolute last! First, I decided to order the lamb chops this time around. OVERPRICED for some overcooked, scrawny pieces of lamb. To make matters worse, I ordered it with mashed potatoes. I didn’t find out they were out until they brought my food out and had those 4 depraved and salty pieces of lamb on some French fries. Second, they charged my AMEX card for two checks, mine and someone else’s. When I brought it to their attention, they told me it’s common there when two people use AMEX back to back . They said it would fall off since it wasn’t a legit charge. Well guess who has 2 charges posted? ♀️. Still trying to get it resolved because give me my money!
I won’t be back! Maybe they just can’t handle a busy time of day with a large crowd. SMH!
You’ve probably come across this place on social media. I definitely did and was interested to try it! We decided to go for dinner to avoid a busy crowd and not be surrounded by crowds (we went at 7pm on a Saturday). No wait and plenty of seating.
I got a passion fruit lemon drop that was really really good! We ordered the creamy collard greens dip…. . It was the best and most delicious dip I’ve ever had. Like who thought of putting collard greens in a dip?! Whoever did is a genius!! Flavorful, seasoned to perfection, cheesy…perfect! I would go back just for it!
Now, here’s where the knock of the one star comes from. The “red velvet” waffle. It tasted like a regular-ish waffle with red food coloring and cream cheese frosting. I was soooooo disappointed because I was looking forward to a red velvet waffle vs a red colored waffle. Also, the waffle wasn’t fluffy at all like you would expect a waffle. It was dense and heavy. Definitely not up to a waffle standard. But the chicken was on point! We also got a bowl of grits. Ehh it was meh. Don’t get me wrong, it was seasoned well but I couldn’t get past the graininess of it. But it could just be me super picky. I like my grits creamy.
I definitely wanna go back for another visit to try a couple more items I was interested in! Not the waffle, unless they got a regular waffle. But hey, just my opinion! Someone else might love it!

From the hostess to the waitress; I enjoyed my first visit. Waitress gave great recommendations on the drinks as well as appetizers. Loved her knowledge of the menu. She was very courteous and professional while being engaging. Job well done!!! Brunch was great!!! Looking forward to trying the dinner menu. The drink set the tone for the experience ❤️

Everything was amazing! Moe took great care of us and recommended the French toast with my chicken. Definitely recommend the Chicken with substitute of French toast with all the toppings.
Arrived around 11:15ish and there was plenty of parking! Didn’t have a reservation but was able to be seating without a wait.

Came in late-night after a concert, and was happy to find that this restaurant was open late. We were promptly seated and charmed by the bartender who was our server. Our food and a special non-alcoholic beverage was great! I’d definitely recommend!

Had a 10/10 experience for Sunday brunch. I forgot the young lady who helped us but she was very attentive and gave great recommendations. We had an amazing time! Salmon bites and the flounder with cheese grits *chefs kiss* Will definitely be back

Outstanding experience at Don’s! The customer service was excellent, and both the food and drinks were top-notch. The collard green dip was absolutely to die for, and the red snapper was seasoned to perfection. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable but they also automatically add 18% gratuity. I couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience!

Been wanting try this place for brunch. The service was ok. We waited a while to get a server, but I appreciate the hostess apologizing stating she was busy cleaning tables and forget to tell the server about us. I understand and appreciate the apology.
I ordered the shrimp and grits and my food was just lukewarm. Our server asked was everything ok and I stated it would be better if it my food came out hot. She offered to bring me a fresh order. I told her she didn’t have to, but she insisted, so I accepted and that new bowl of shrimp and grits was still lukewarm, just a little warmer, but not hot. My level of a hot food may be high, the food just wasn’t hot. The flavor was ok. My friend got the greens and wings and found them to ok.

Our flight was delayed and changed at the last minute. We decided to google some black owned restaurants to support. Don’s came up and we were NOT disappointed. We were so impressed by the service from our waitress! We told her how delicious everything was and she recommended we talk to the owner. Don came out to meet us and I can see why the food is so good. The brother has such an amazing spirit and mannerism about himself. Go support this place the food is cooked with so much love and quality! From our starters to our drinks, absolute PERFECTION! We has salmon balls, collard dip, salmon and grits, and the wings/waffles.

I will start positive with the collard green dip, wings, whiting with grits was the best thing at our table. The salmon bites were very dry and do not recommend the mac. Our server was very inexperienced (best way to describe her). She forgot what we ordered after writing it down, leaving water pitcher and serving tray at the table each time she left and so much more. The bar service was very slow took over 20 mins to get drinks. The kitchen also took over a hr to get our food out and the restaurant was not busy at all. As a person that frequently eat in similar atmospheres this was one of the least favorite, and the 4 others with me felt the same. This place has so much potential. I hope the next person has a better experience. I only give a 3 overall bc of the few food items we enjoyed. I added pics of the bites and Mac, other items that were enjoyed were gone so unable to picture.
