Reviews
We originally had Blue Ocean in La Jolla, the sister restaurant, but Harumama is much closer to us and they have an almost identical menu and the food quality is incredible.
The beef bulgogi udon is impeccable, the noodles are amazing and overall the dish is SO flavorful. The chicken katsu is so juicy but also crispy at the same time, the salad that comes with it is amazing and the peanut sauce is so good I could lick it off the plate.
The service was wonderful and the environment was lovely.
We come here a few times a month, definitely a top 3 spot in SD for us.
I got the Me So Hot! and seaweed salad. The soup is flavorful with the spicy peanut taste and roasted brussel sprouts. I also ordered watermelon for drinks which I thought it’s a real watermelon juice but it’s still tasty. And some character buns to go.
The lady who helped me was super nice and friendly, she explains things patiently and clearly.
Overall, service is great, food is okay.
Service was AWFUL. There were three of us and we all got served at wildly different times. I got the poke bowl and was served first. Ramen bowl came 20 min after that. The poor person who ordered buns had to wait a whopping hour and a half. If we hadn’t come specifically for the buns we would have left way before that.
It was not busy when we went either, but did appear to have minimal staff.
