The two waitresses were AWSOME! I do believe our main waitresses name was Darlene. She was great about us asking a bunch of questions. She gave us her honest opinion when we asked about certain foods. She kept our drinks full and even brought us to go drinks without us asking for. My daughter had the steak and chicken with fried potatoes and onions. The boneless chicken was a large size, nicely breaded and moist. The potatoes were delicious. I had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese and dumplings. That was all great. To our surprise it all was served with a couple of biscuits with butter and applebutter. For our first time visit we were really impressed. We will definitely go back!

Tried this place for the first time for dinner. We went in and were told to sit wherever, so we chose a booth. The table had food crumbs all over it still, no biggie, there were some extra napkins so I started to wipe it down. A girl came over and saw me wiping crumbs away, didn’t even ask if we wanted it wiped down or anything. Just dropped some menus and walked away. So I crumpled up the napkin and let it sit on the end of the table to be picked up, where it Sat for our entire dinner. Waitress takes our order and we wait for our food. Never was asked about any refills, I had to ask to get one for my son. She never cleared any of our empty cups or dishes from our appetizer. Everything remained on the table crowding while we were served our food. Our food comes out which was tasted okay, not the best we’ve had, but our bill was almost $70. You dont spend that much for subpar food. Once we are finished we sit and wait for our check, while the three ladies at the counter are messing on their phones. We Sat there for a good 5-10 minutes after finishing our food without our waitress ever coming back to ask if we wanted boxes, to give us our check or to ask how our food was. Nothing. She stayed at the counter messing with the register and talking to the girl next to her. We had to get up and walk over to get our check to even pay. We could excuse that behavior if they were slammed but we were one of three other tables in there. Won’t be back again.

I wanted grilled catfish and found this little spot offered it. We had never visited before and have lived down the street for years. Let me tell you… this was the best grilled catfish I have had! (Better than Cracker Barrel hands down) My husband got the breaded tenderloin sandwich and loved it as well. The servings are very generous and sides were just as wonderful! We will most definitely be back!

Pre nursing home food. Very limited seasoning. The demographic is much older and only few years away from a nursing home. When I expressed my concern of lack of seasoning there wasn’t much effort into a response because their target audience is over 60.

Not a good family restaurant just. Good substitute for assisted living food

Tried friends diner for breakfast the other day and it was delicious. Typical family diner, on the small side and nothing fancy about it. Service was friendly and the food came out fast and all for a reasonable price. We both really enjoyed both our meals. The biscuits were great and the gravy had a good flavor but I didn’t see much sausage in it. The French toast was good too, made me think of Cracker Barrel. Just wish they offered fried potatoes but that’s just a personal preference. They do offer regular hash browns, hash brown casserole, or red potatoes that my son had and he said they were cooked perfect. We’ll definitely be back.

I was in a couple nights ago with my family our server was amazing. She gave me suggestions like the Blacken Chicken she said it is her favorite. She wasn’t lying when she said it was good. I believe her name was Tabby and on top of being a good server she was also helping her coworkers getting drinks, greeting the tables and even saw her up at the front helping cash people out. I will definitely be coming back.

Our last day in Indiana and we went to have breakfast at this restaurant. It was a family atmosphere, very cheerful and obviously a local favorite. The food was fresh and tasty. The only thing I can say we were not happy about is the amount of mayonnaise they use on practically everything. I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich and the menu did not say it included mayonnaise. When I got it it had a thick layer of it. Very gross. And the Swiss cheese they use tasted like anything but Swiss cheese. I scraped the mayonnaise and cheese off. That’s the reason I’m giving them three stars. The portions are very hardy and the servers are very friendly. Next time we visit our relatives again we will try this place once again. And ask for no mayo!

First time visit, heard all good things about Friend’s and just had to try it! Walked in around 10:30 on a Thursday morning and was seated quickly, however it took a bit to be greeted by our server. A table came in after us, was seated and had their drinks before we were even acknowledged. Not ok in a small establishment.

I ordered a cheese omelet with the hash brown casserole (so yummy) with biscuits and gravy. All the food was hot and very good!! My only complaint concerning the food is that the bowl that holds the gravy is not enough gravy for two biscuits.

Once our order was taken, we were served in a timely manner and our server came by to offer coffee and to check if we needed anything quite a few times. All in all I was happy with my first visit at Friend’s, I wouldn’t hesitate to revisit.
