I was curious about this place and finally got to drop by yesterday! I wanted to get the oxtail but didn’t know it was Weekends only, so my partner and I got dinner combos with a peach cobbler. It took a while for our food to arrive but it was fine sitting inside of the restaurant waiting. I had the BBQ ribs with fried okra and mac n cheese. It was superbly done. The sauce was great with some heat, the ribs were done well and soft with great flavor, and the sides were amazing too! The peach cobbler was really great and I wish I ordered 2 since it was hard to share. Decadent with soft dough and baked peaches. My partner got the catfish dinner which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Our food was hot and tasty, with great breading and frying. Highly recommend this place and looking forward to trying more of the different dishes. Make sure to tip them well!

Opened 2010 should’ve closed down same day. Men were rude, except for the 2 that took my order. Their uniform shirts were dirty. They all looked like they hadn’t slept in days. Smelled like cigarettes. Food was nasty. I wouldn’t go there again if there was a famine. Horrible horrible horrible. Don’t revamp it, burn it down to the foundation, then rebuild with peopo that really do no how to cook. They made me go straight to the grocery store buy ingredients and the next day I cooked catfish, greens, black eyed peas and homemade cornbread. And it was delicious.

Don’t waste your money. Food looked nothing like the pictures online. Portions was cheap, candied yams was literally straight from the can with no flavor, Mac n cheese was so plain. They got our food wrong. Only thing that was okay was the shrimp ‍♀️ Never again.

Stacy’s off Da Hook Soulfood & BBQ is . People really be sleeping on soul food I’d rather spend 20 bucks for a huge plate of southern goodness than like 4 tacos. Its economical, delicious , and helping our community. Local restaurants are serving you Sysco food. I’d rather have somebodys mommas recipe made with heart than these wack trendy restaurants

What a great find! Authentic feeling and authentic tasting southern restaurant. The owners even opened up early for us the day we walked in.
The restaurant itself is very tiny with only 5 booths. It’s a little dated but gives it that dive feeling.
The fried chicken was my absolute favorite. My aunt could hear the “crunch” from across the room. So crispy!
The only disappointment was the ribs. They were well done and not the best. The sauce however was delicious.
Give this place a try and support black operated businesses!

The Mac and cheese keeps changing. I just ordered 2 dinners with Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese is literally plain noodles that doesn’t taste like it’s Mac and cheese. I also got yam as well those were bland and definitely not how they were from when they 1st opened. I paid $20 for each meal and very disappointed. Adding on to my comment from my food experience that I had 11/5/2025. Now when I 1st tried this restaurant the food was off the hook it was amazing. Now it’s not the same as before. The yams don’t taste the same, the Mac and cheese is never the same. I had the fried chicken and there was no flavor at all. I also order the fried pork chops for my other half and he didn’t even finish it, ended up throwing it away once again no flavor in the food. Not only that they used the wrong type of pork chops for frying. The best chops to use for frying are the bone in ones. For the amount of money people spend at these places every bite should be the same. Can I cook these same meals at home yes, but there are times where we want to get someone else to cook it lol. This was not it! Like I stated back when they had what was the family working in there the food was good. Now I just will not spend my money there no more to keep getting disappointed. Hopefully they can bring back whoever it was that used to cook the food. The yams were actually candied, Mac and cheese was actually baked and the food was seasoned well. Not only that people ordered sides and then after they paid and had been waiting for their food, to only be told they didn’t have it. The many years that I have worked and cooked in restaurants they need to come up with a new system also get someone to go in and deep clean the place. The soda machine looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since they opened and from the dripping I saw from it, it needs to be serviced. BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL COOK!!!

Needed some comfort food for dinner and stopped by here. Was glad we did as the food was fantastic home style good food. I apparently have been getting fried chicken from the big chains for too long as the fried chicken reminded me just how good it can be when quality meat is used with homestyle cooking. Perfect crispiness and very juicy meat. The pulled pork and BBQ sauce was super tasty and so were the red beans and rice combo and the fried okra. Will visit again when I’m back in PHX.

Finally! A soul food restaurant where the food is good in this town! It’s not super salty or fatty with the cuts of the meats, I appreciate that. The cornbread is moist and fish was good too. Coming from a South Georgia girl, this is southern approved. (I didn’t try the drinks so you are on your own with that)
