We didn’t make a booking and were trying to get one beforehand, but luckily they always keep tables for walk-ins. We didn’t have to wait and even got a bar seat, which was perfect.
The host was friendly and informative, setting the tone right away. Our server, Nataniel, was fun, warm, and genuinely attentive. He gave us honest and thoughtful recommendations on what to order, and every suggestion was spot on. He’s a vibe
Amazing food, incredible views, and great service. Will definitely be back.
We were fortunate enough to have a beach front view that felt like you were looking at a postcard!
Our waitress Elizabeth was a breath of fresh air that added so much to our experience. She was very personable, had a great knowledgeable of the menu and made excellent recommendations about the food and activities in the area as well. You are lucky to have her.
The food was amazing and we loved the flavours and the creativity. The salmon spring rolls were an unexpected highlight, with the avocado cream pairing just delightful.
The super light housemade roti is an absolute must to soak up the sauce from one of their delicious curries. We had the coconut prawn curry and it was divine.
The signature Moreton Bay bug rolls are delicious as they look, and the Phoenix Wagyu in the truffle honey sauce is a must try.
A beautiful location with amazing food and staff. Well done Rick Shores, thank you for a wonderful experience that we won’t forget.
Seriously, stop what you’re doing and book a table here. I am still dreaming about this place!
First off, the view is unreal, right on Burleigh Heads, you can’t get a better spot to soak up the Gold Coast vibe.
Now for the food. There are two things you must order: the Roti and Burrata and the Moreton Bay Bug Roll. That Roti and Burrata starter is ridiculously good, and the Bug Roll is famous for a reason, every single bite was an explosion of perfectly delicious, well-balanced flavours. Honestly, everything we tried was faultless!
But the absolute cherry on top was the incredible hospitality. We were looked after so well. A HUGE shout-out to Lachie, he was an amazing host! He was super friendly, made us feel so comfortable, and ensured we had the best possible experience. Give that guy a raise!
Go for the food, go for the view, but stay for the whole fantastic experience. You won’t regret it!
The ambience is hard to beat: ocean views, natural light, and that relaxed Burleigh energy that instantly puts you at ease. It’s the kind of place where time slows down and conversation comes easily.
And the food… outstanding. Thoughtful, beautifully presented and packed with flavour — every dish delivered.
Rick Shores isn’t just a great restaurant, it’s an experience. Consistently impressive and a place we’ll always come back to. Thank you Anthony Clark
We were seated in an excellent location—right on the water near the open windows—which really added to the atmosphere. Despite how busy the restaurant was, the staff did a great job ensuring drinks were consistently served, which we appreciated.
The only downside was the food. Portions were quite small and a little underwhelming overall. The standout dish was the Moreton Bay bug roll, however for $90 per person the banquet felt disappointing in value.
I would be happy to return on a regular weekend and would likely opt to order à la carte rather than choosing the banquet again
Altogether, Rick Shores combines stunning views with excellent food and service …a place well worth visiting if you can secure a table.
