I had dinner at Spicy Shallot with my brother, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The food is outstanding and the service is truly spectacular.
We ordered the Calamari Rings and Tuna Bites as appetizers. Both were incredibly delicious, the texture of the tuna was perfect, the presentation was beautiful, and the sauce that came with the calamari was absolutely amazing.
For my main dish, I had the Crab Meat Fried Rice, and it was exceptional. The flavor was rich, perfectly seasoned, and what impressed me the most is that they use real crab meat, not imitation crab.
Overall, this was one of the best Thai dining experiences I’ve had in New York. Highly recommended!

The food was all amazing. The atmosphere was great the service great. My only hiccup is the place is a bit small , so it is not for large groups. The wait was about 40mins and we tried to nake reservations before hand but that was down. Other than that everything was excellent.

I’ve been on the hunt for the best Thai food in NYC, and I think I’ve found it at Spicy Shallot.
This was my first time here, and I was completely blown away by the food. Everything was absolutely delicious, but some dishes really stood out.
The duck curry was rich and flavorful, and the crab meat fried rice was a perfect blend of savory and fresh. I also highly recommend the grilled pork chop and the beef steak, both cooked to perfection. And of course, the Pad Thai Mao Kai was phenomenal.
To top it all off, the Thai Tea is a must-try. It comes in regular and large sizes, which is perfect because you’ll definitely want more. I can’t wait to come back with friends to share this gem!

I went there with my friends and we had a great time. The drunken noodles were packed with bold, savory flavor, perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spice and fragrant basil. The basil fried rice was light, aromatic, and delicious, made with fresh ingredients. Everything tasted authentic and well prepared. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this place.

This place never disappointed me. We came here right after we had another meal at another place (the tiny portion made us even hungrier after we ate), so we decided to go elsewhere to continue our lunch. So far this place has been amazing. Great food quality as always.

came here twice and all i have to say is positive things! staff is extremely friendly and nice, very accommodating as well and their servings are huge! i loved sharing different stuff with my friends and the pad see eew was so amazing, the crispy calamari was so addicting too i was tempted to get a second serving. the cocktails here are great i had a white sangria last time and the lychee mocktail was also really yummy. their thai iced teas are very sweet and delicious too, but definitely the staff were very lovely 🙂

A few days ago, I left a 5-star review for Spicy Shallot because I truly thought it was an excellent place. However, today I must change my rating to 1 star.
I came all the way from Manhattan with my wife, and I even invited some friends to whom I had already recommended the restaurant. We live outside of New York and planned our evening to come here, arriving at 10:20 pm. We knew the restaurant closed at 11:00 pm, so arriving 40 minutes before closing seemed more than reasonable.
I never arrive at a restaurant 15 or 20 minutes before closing because I understand staff are already cleaning up, but 40 minutes should be enough time to seat customers. Unfortunately, we were told they could not seat us and would only serve takeout.
I don’t believe this reflects good service. If the restaurant truly does not accept customers after 10:20 pm, then they should clearly state their closing time as 10:30 pm instead of 11:00 pm.
For this reason, my review changes from 5 stars to 1 star.

The food and atmosphere was really good. I loved the Chicken Katsu and the spice level was so amazing. The food tasted really good. I loved the atmosphere/vibe as well. The price was decent as well because 4 people ate and it was about $100

I haven’t eat here for years and they have some renovation and the restaurant now look nice and more modern. Service is great with very friendly servers and food is pretty quick.
– BBQ Beef which is delicious and juicy, love it!
– Yum Salmon is good in Thai style of sauce, if you love spicy you should try.
– Japanese modern set: It just a regular rolls with nothing special but can feel you up if you are hungry.
– Scallops Carpaccio: this menu here I have no idea what went wrong with it. They put too much salt and the sauce is weird. Not crazy at all.

I order delivery from here all the time, best curry hands down. Sunday afternoon I decided to order some curry and it’s always good but this time is was EXCEPTIONAL!!! The massaman curry was like a warm hug, so comforting. This place also offers fried tofu in curry and it’s always cooked perfectly, not too chewy or soft. I’ve been meaning to post a review for a while and kept forgetting, love this place so much. (Photo is my heated up leftovers with some fresh rice and an egg I made, yum). ♥️
