I stopped into The Whistle Sports Bar & Grill in Oak Lawn and had a great experience overall. I ordered the Fat Freddy sandwich along with a plate of wings, 5 with medium sauce and 5 with wet Cajun sauce.

The food did not disappoint. The Fat Freddy was stacked and flavorful, with melted cheese, roasted peppers, and just the right amount of sauce on perfectly toasted bread. It’s the kind of sandwich that feels indulgent in the best way possible. The wings were another highlight, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and tossed generously in sauce. The medium had that classic tangy heat, while the wet Cajun had a unique spice that really stood out. Easily some of the better wings I’ve had in the area.

Service was attentive and friendly, which made the dining experience even better.

We chose to sit out on the patio. The space itself was nice, but I will say the setup had a couple of comfort issues. The chairs didn’t have cushions, which made them a little stiff for a longer meal. The ceiling fans were running on high, which made it pretty windy, and later the fire pit was turned on, which added heat on top of the breeze, so it was a bit of a mixed climate experience.

That said, the food and service far outweighed those small drawbacks. Next time I’d probably sit indoors, but I’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu. If you’re in Oak Lawn and looking for hearty food, great wings, and a fun sports bar atmosphere, The Whistle is absolutely worth a stop.

Michelle was our server, The place was crowded but it was a good crowded if that makes any sense. I think the whole Chicago Bears in the playoffs Vibe was flowing throughout the place, the staff took care of the music to make sure that the place felt lively. Lively the food was amazing as was the service. Highly recommend the loaded nachos but come hungry because it is filling and delicious. This was my first time visiting the location on 95th, definitely coming back again and again. Great place to watch sports.

This place is awesome. The atmosphere is incredible. We loved the outdoor seating. The staff is friendly and even changed the channel on one of their many flat screen tv’s. The food is amazing. So accommodating too. We’ll be back!

Went there for birthday lunch. (NOT my first time) Was greeted by JDog. (I think that’s his name) Honestly he was the nicest and most attentive. The rest of the staff ignored me saying “excuse me” multiple times because I wanted to order a drink and my food was wrong. So much so that the table next to us said “that’s 4xs” and it was multiple workers. When asked after 10 minutes how everything was; I provided an honest opinion and I was told ” I will talk to the team.” No apologies whatsoever: no discounts; no manager. Nothing. The thing is, I like the food there; even though my order was wrong and instead of correcting it, they sent a side of the correct wing sauce. If it wasn’t my birthday and my 1st birthday without my granny. ( I was DETERMINED to have a good day) I’m pretty sure my attitude would have been worse with the blatant TERRIBLE service. Unfortunately I won’t be returning. Even though the food is good, my money will be welcomed elsewhere.

I’m blowing the whistle on some of the best food I’ve had! Yeah buddy!
You walk in and have great options to sit inside, outside or in my favorite spot, in the area with the retractable roof. Nicolette was our server and didn’t miss a beat. I’m allergic to fish and she and the chef went above and beyond to make sure I was able to enjoy lunch and drinks. The pretzels were amazing and that cheese, wow! The grilled chicken sandwich and wings were perfectly cooked and had great flavor. The drinks were spot on too. It was was a great time enjoying the company and watching sports on their huge multi screen TV. I highly recommend to wet your whistle here!

I was here yesterday for the first time and it was good! I ordered a burger with sweet potato fries and it was delicious.

However I will say that needs to be addressed or changed is the temperature of the water in the bathroom sink. It was ice cold. The water should be HOT. So I hope they can change that by the next visit I go.

Went to the Whistle on 95th with my family. For my adult beverage I had the Whistle Hunch Punch it was delicious. I gulped it down in like two slurps. It reminded me of a sweet summer drink. For my meal, I had the buffalo chicken salad with the breaded chicken mild. It was seasoned really well. My kids had the chicken loaded nachos.
It was a busy night and the weather was nice so I lot of people was out. The wait time was average I suppose. While I mentioned it was a nice spring evening, I don’t think it was warm enough to have the roof open which made it chilly. I may have been the only person that was chilly because everyone was watching sports and drinking.

I always go here for the wings which are top tier. Decent and consistent service, food and drinks are always good. I recently had the buffalo chicken sandwich which was good as well.

The music is horrible though. And their juke box doesn’t have any good music on it – they should hire a DJ if they don’t have one already.

My husband and I used to frequent this establishment. After this last visit, we recall why we stopped. It’s like they expect their black & brown customers to be an issue. Food has always been fine, but lately something seems off. I’ll just leave that at that because the food isn’t the reason for the review. My issue is with service/managers. Everyone that expresses a concern isn’t trying to get something for free. My husband and I are Bar owners ourselves actually (you never know who you’re serving). I asked for gin on the rocks, like I always order here. When we received the check I was charged for doubles even though I didn’t order doubles. Manager just kept saying well they didn’t explain it to you but that’s what you got. Any customer service would’ve been sufficient rather than an oh well. She spoke to me like I didn’t understand pours. A “rocks” pour shouldn’t be the same as a “double”. Look it up. If it is for you then you should at least be transparent about what you intend to charge. Charging customers for what you decide to pour rather than what they order isn’t good practice. Paying the tab wasn’t the issue. Your customer service is. We won’t return.
