The ambiance and vibe is one that is truly authentic Mexican. We were seated right away and given the option between a table or a booth and we went with Mexican-decorated booth. My wife went with a Mai Tai and I went with an Electric Blue Margarita for our drinks, and they Mai Tai came in a parrot designed glass and my margarita was garnished with a lime, orange, a cherry, and a festive straw. The prices for the drinks were somewhat steep though for a Mexican restaurant, even with the “extra” on the drinks…$15 per drink…they were good though. My wife had a chicken taco and a chili relleno with white sauce and I had the enchilada bang bang with black beans and rice. Unfortunately, my wife ended up getting an upset stomach from what she had , and it looked like the culprit may have been the chili relleno which didn’t look so good when it came out…so, I would stay away from that, even though it may have been a one off. My dish was delicious with excellent presentation and I did not get sick from it. Not sure if we will be back here again because $80+ dollars for two people for dinner (3 drinks total = $45, two entrees = $40 + queso dip) at a Mexican restaurant is somewhat pricey in my opinion.

It’s better than I expected
This is my first time eating authentic Mexican food in Michigan. Overall, it was good. The restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was tasty. The rice was different than what I’m used too.Also, the chimichanga was smaller than expected, but overall, it was good.

$30 for a wet burrito with beef and beans!! BLAND!!! It was disgusting and I was so disappointed!! I couldn’t get no rice with it.. no lettuce.. nothing else. Some nerve to serve me that!! Customer service thank you being so friendly.

Not only was this food fantastic Everyone that was working were super friendly and welcoming. During the busiest part of the day on the weekend my take out order didn’t even take 15 min, in fact I think it was ready in 10. The atmosphere was great and the decor is on point. Not only will I be back, I’ll definitely be telling all of my friends about my fabulous experience.

When I get Mexican food for take out I always get it from here. The prices have went way up sadly. I understand why the prices have gone up. That wasn’t the problem the food quality was not good that was the problem. Two of my enchiladas were rock hard and the cheese dip was like water. Not to happy and most likely won’t waster my money here again.

It’s been about 6 months since I stopped here for lunch. I think the food is even better than I remember. The taco salad fajitas were amazing, the chips and salsa were delicious. The restaurant has a new interior paint scheme that is incredible and really adds to the overall experience. The waitstaff couldn’t have been more pleasant. La Cocina Mexicana is definitely in my lunch rotation again

the lady was rushing us. then right as we set asking how much it was (the total) she says one second and seats these other people. was a 15 min wait, not too bad. i had ordered to quesadillas and instead of beans and rice i just ordered rice and more rice. getting home and finding nasty ah beans with my rice was not a nice surprise. i also asked for jus meat and cheese, had onions and peppers in mine. was not blessed, and it was my first time so, first impression matter. this was not a good one!

This is my go to restaurant when I’m entertaining my out of state friends. The grilled shrimp in any dish is my favorite. The flavors in their dishes had my husband and I visit there establishment three times in one week. Excellent food and healthy portion. Love their homemade Sangria!
