The Butcher & The Baker is a definitely a must visit in Telluride! It was crazy busy when we went so expect a wait but it didn’t take very long to get through the line. Food was fresh, flavorful, and worth every penny. The burgers and sandwiches are phenomenal, and you can’t go wrong with a fresh cold local pint to wash it all down! A perfect local gem to try!

Walked in to the shop a few people sitting. I got up to the counter where my mom and niece were at the counter. We stood there no one around. I said “ hello” after a while a young man came up and said what can I get you and what else? No hello welcome in or we’ll be right with you. He seemed rushed to help us and a bit impatient?! We ordered our drinks and pastries, paid and left. I dont think he said thanks?!? Just weird . And I tipped him. My first time to this coffee shop and I’ve always had good service while in Telliride. Coffee was good and our croissants were good, light and flaky. Just wish the service was hospitable and kind.

Super cute brunch spot in downtown telluride! Of course beautiful views and lots of outdoor seating. Was really tough to find a menu anywhere so we just looked online. I got the tuna sandwhich which was phenomenal. House chips were great too and every meal comes w fruit which was nice. Not THAT pricey for being a nice spot in telluride but I also paid $20 and didn’t get a drink. My friends meal looked kinda gross and the salad was below average. She got ciabatta and it looked like a soggy wrap. She hated her meal but I liked mine,

Food was delicious, my husband and I are vegetarians and we both found options on the menu that we truly enjoyed. I had a sandwich with kale, courgette and egg. He had a veggie breakfast bowl.

Super fresh breakfast food and pretty quick service! The Butcher & The Baker could definitely use some more seating, but we were able to grab a table pretty quickly after ordering. I didn’t adore the breakfast burrito, but my bacon and eggs plate was tasty.

We frequent this place regularly for both drinks and food, and while it’s been consistently good – that is exactly why the service issue stands out so clearly.
There is a repeated pattern of selective treatment by one Hispanic woman working the counter. When my partner and I order together, she consistently addresses him while ignoring me—despite standing next to him and participating in the order. This has happened across multiple visits.
This is not a misunderstanding. This is not a one-off. It is deliberate exclusion in a guest-facing role.
When an employee decides who is worthy of basic acknowledgment, that is both a service failure and a management failure. Customers do not come here to be filtered through someone else to receive basic respect.
Seeing the overall rating of 4.3 now, the service pattern I experienced doesn’t feel isolated — it tracks. Good food and drinks can’t compensate for inconsistent, dismissive treatment at the counter.
When this is allowed to happen repeatedly to paying customers, it defines the establishment.

I loved my lunch at the Butcher & the Baker! We looked at 4 other locations in Telluride and their food looked average and was expensive. The food here was more affordable and very fresh since they’re a farm to table cafe and have a farm in Montrose, CO (an hour away).
I got the House Salad, it was very yummy with the fresh veggies and yummy dressing. The rotisserie chicken in it was delicious! My husband got the chicken salad wrap and our friends got sandwiches. Their lemonade is really good and I got a vanilla cupcake! I liked the environment and was very happy with my experience.

Fabulous food. Smaller interior so try to scout a seat. Did not love the famous tuna sandwich but the reuben and the lentil soup were fantastic. Fries were also really good.

The staff is great the food is great it’s absolutely tremendous. The ladies that are working there are top notch. The vibe in there is awesome. Beware though, if you have a service dog be prepared to be harassed bye one of the managers there. He will go as far as to break the law and make a scene in the restaurant over your service dog being inside of the restaurant. He has no problem making a scene and harassing you about your service dog. Keep in mind you are not legally required to provide service dog information you were only required to State what your dog does as a service dog but this guy does not pay attention to the regulations. Be careful of people who desire to make themselves very important by becoming the policeman of the world making an otherwise enjoyable breakfast experience into a confrontation throughout the entire restaurant because he needs to assert his importance wherever he can
