This was a return visit for us – 630pm on a Saturday in March. Normally we visit end of July. Wasn’t overly busy service was great – friendly! And the food was amazing! Margs too! Chips and salsa are not complimentary but loved them for $3. We continue to love the authentic food of La Cocina de Mama!

This place is so cute and charming! The food is SO delicious! I recommend their breakfast menu! The service is good, but can be a little slow. We went with it was pretty empty and still had to wait a little while but it was enjoyable anyways! The location is so beautiful, and the service is very friendly.

5 Stars – The Best Mexican Food in Colorado
La Cocina de Mama in Estes Park continues to be our absolute favorite Mexican restaurant—not just in town, but truly the best Mexican food in all of Colorado. We come here often, and every visit reminds us exactly why we keep returning. The atmosphere is cozy, warm, and welcoming, with a comfortable dining room and a relaxing outdoor patio that’s perfect on nice days. It feels like a place where you can settle in and enjoy a great meal without any rush.
On this visit, we started with their chips and salsa, which are always fresh, crisp, and served with flavorful salsa that has just the right amount of kick. I also ordered a margarita, and as usual, it was excellent—well-balanced, refreshing, and made with quality ingredients. For the meal, I went with the chicken street tacos, which are consistently delicious. The chicken is tender and well-seasoned, and the toppings are always fresh and thoughtfully prepared.
What sets La Cocina de Mama apart, aside from the incredible food, is the service. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and genuinely appreciative of their guests. Whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor, you’re treated like family.
If you’re in Estes Park and craving authentic, flavorful Mexican cuisine, this place is a must. Highly recommended every time.

Food was fantastic after a long day of hiking! I got the green chili queso and the combo plate with a shredded beef chimichanga and a tamale. The beef was very tender and flavorful, everything was cheesy too. Highly recommend!

The very best authentic Mexican food. Carne asada was very good, enchiladas tomatillo sauce delicious. They also made my Adios on point. Friendly customer service.

Love! Love! Love this place. Our Air Bnb locals suggested this as a favorite of theirs, and wow, it was so good. I love fish tacos and get them all over the world, and these were probably my favorite… Ever. My boyfriend got the tamales and they were also very good. We had great margaritas as well. Great food and drinks! Great service! and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the patio!

Hit this place up if you’re looking for quality mexican food! Some of the best I’ve had. Our server, Victor, gave us some great recommendations. Amazing quantity and quality, especially for the price. Absolutely worth it to venture a little bit off the main strip! Five stars all the way!!
In the photo: quesadilla appetizer, san bruno quesadilla, ultimate chimichanga. We also ordered the chips and salsa! Chips are fresh made in house and so delicious. Salsa is right on par.

After finishing 4 days at Rocky Mountain National Park you want good food. This place hit the mark and then some! Here you avoid the inflated prices of downtown Estes Park. You pay for the chips and salsa but that’s because they are amazingly made fresh at the restaurant. WORTH IT! Had the Breakfast Burrito (served all day), and I couldn’t be more pleased with the quantity, flavor, and price. Customer service was awesome as well. TOP NOTCH!
