Since the early days of Little Star Pizza in San Francisco, we have taken enormous pride in serving our award-winning deep dish and thin crust pizzas. By offering organic salads, appetizers made from scratch, house made dressings and sauces, and fresh dough tossed daily, our once small pizzeria has blossomed into a dynamic neighborhood restaurant. Beyond dozens of signature dishes, our bar serves artisan cocktails, carefully selected wines and beer in an elegant yet comfortable environment. We treat our guests like family, invest in our employees, and use responsible and high quality ingredients.
A busy chain outpost known for deep-dish pies with cornmeal crust, but it rolls thin crust too.

The pizzas are amazing, great variety, fresh, high quality ingredients. The salads and appetizers are also great. They also have a full bar if you want to get down like that
We ordered two large pizza’s. One is a thin crust Chicken Pesto. It was very good but pesto is really strong. We also ordered the Detroit style All star pizza. These were pretty good. We also ordered their large Caesar salad for the family. That was pretty good even if the leaves were whole and had to cut it up. I had a sangria as well, and it was good and strong.
Service was very good. Prices are little pricey though but I enjoyed myself there. They were training a new hire but they still served us well. I think I would come back again if in the area.
The California Pizza, the All-Star Pizza, spicy chicken wings and the Cheesy garlic bread are all great and good options. Highly recommend
My rating is lower because the surrounding parking enforcement situation significantly affected the experience. I received a $50 parking ticket during my visit, which effectively became an added cost on top of the meal. That turns what should be a relaxed dining stop into a time-pressured one.
I understand the restaurant does not control city parking rules, and this is not a complaint about the staff or food. It’s about the overall customer experience in the area. Because of this experience, I will not be visiting Albany businesses for the next six months — including restaurants, shops, fuel stops, and specialty stores — and will choose Berkeley instead, where the parking expectations feel clearer and more predictable.
If the parking environment changes, I’d return. The pizza is worth it.
My go-to orders are the meat lovers pizza, the spinach and feta cheese pizza, and the meatball and ricotta pizza. The meatballs are especially good, flavorful and well-seasoned. Overall, a great spot for deep-dish when you’re craving something hearty and satisfying.
