I had a very disappointing experience at this Sonic location. The food was honestly nasty and tasted like it had been sitting out for a long time. On top of that, the customer service was terrible. The server was extremely rude and unprofessional, and I even heard them cursing at customers, which is completely unacceptable in any business.

When people are spending their money, they deserve decent food and respectful service. Unfortunately, this location failed at both. I definitely won’t be returning, and management really needs to address the behavior of their staff and the quality of the food.

I parked in the dining area parking and went to use the restroom but the door was locked. So inside I go to order my food and the front counter person was more interested in using her phone than she was taking orders. I ordered Two $1.99 double cheeseburgers and a shake and was told that the shake machine was not working. Ok stuff breaks so I got a small cup of water. Finally got food and opened the bag and no napkins, went counter and got napkins and left. Unwrapped my cheeseburger and it was old and had been reheated in the microwave. If I come back through Greensboro will definitely not stop here again to eat.

Order two double cheese meals the patties were cold the bread and when i call the restaurant the so call manager was very Rude over the phone the first time she hang up on me and the second time was worse than hanging up the phone. I don’t understand why this type of people are allow to work as customer service in places like this I suppose to take the food back but we have small baby and Im disable so driving 6 to 7 miles back to get anew meals was no a hard decision The manager name was Came something with the orange hair I guess she is getting pay big box to have a horrible Customer Service. DO NOT get fast food from this place a least the manager it is your friend other wise food will be garbage

Every visit to this location feels like a social experiment designed to see how much of a customer’s time and money they can waste before that customer gives up.

Less than two months ago, I stopped here before work with plenty of time to pick up a mobile order. I checked in on the app and waited at a stall for five minutes. No acknowledgment. No activity. Nothing. Since they clearly didn’t realize, or didn’t care, that I was there (despite the store not being busy), I went through the drive-thru instead. I was acknowledged, told to pull forward past the window… and then abandoned.

I sat there for THIRTY MINUTES. During that time, cars behind me gave up, parked, and went inside. I finally followed them, and magically, my food that was already 45 minutes late appeared in under three minutes once I walked inside. Apparently, the secret to being served at this location is to ignore the stalls, ignore the app, ignore the drive-thru, and just go inside. Otherwise, you could apparently sit outside indefinitely.

Fast-forward to tonight (12/13/25) at around 10:55 p.m. After a long shift at work, I made the mistake of giving this place another chance. I placed a mobile order for a milkshake and chicken bites, checked in, and parked at stall 15. A few minutes later, an employee came out and asked if I had an order ahead, information that should already be visible since I CHECKED IN ON THEIR SYSTEM.

I was then told the ice cream machine was “down,” which clearly meant it had already been cleaned for closing and they didn’t want to deal with it again. I was asked if I wanted something else to drink. No, I ordered a milkshake. That was the entire point of stopping here.

I requested a refund and was told I’d have to do it through the app. When I asked how to do that, the response was essentially, “I don’t know, I don’t know the app.” So now I have no milkshake, no refund, and seven dollars missing from my account with zero guidance on how to get it back.

This location excels at one thing: wasting customers’ time and money while offering absolutely no accountability, communication, or basic competence. If you enjoy being ignored, overcharged, and left to figure things out yourself, this is the place for you. Otherwise, save yourself the frustration and go literally anywhere else.

Today the food was amazing. The onion rings were crispy and fresh, and the burger was very tasteful. He’s the first time that my sandwich was made correctly and it wasn’t sloppy and I appreciate that. The slushy was good as always. I will definitely be back to this location thank you all for amazing service today.

We ordered a drink and tots via mobile. After waiting in our car for 10 minutes I went inside to see what was taking so long. The restaurant was empty except for another patron also waiting. After 5 more minutes I caught the attention of a worker. They helped with my order but it took yet another 5 minutes just to make the soda. When we got to the bottom of our drink, the spout from the drink machine was in our cup! I’ll be sure to avoid this location in the future.

Normally service is meh but decided to order through drive through for a quick bite to change it up. Been months since we ordered from there. We ordered 2 number 3s with delicious cheddar broccoli tots. The car hop Donald was very professional and had great customer service skills. He is the best drive through order taker we ever had. He was on it, even repeated the order. Everything was fresh and didn’t have to wait long at all. It was quite refreshing to have such a wonderful customer experience these days when everywhere else is sub par. Will definitely return because of the good new guy.

I’ve ordered 3 times from here in the last 4 months for a family of 3. Every order has been wrong and incomplete. The food we did receive was soggy and improperly packaged.

I ordered a Chocolate Chip Brownie shake and Tamara really showed out.
I explained to her I got the same item the night at the location on 1715 Spring Garden!
Just say, it Did Not Look Like The One I got from Gate City Location!
Even the carhop, Sydney, shrugged her shoulders like that’s how it’s made! Of course, that may not be here name but that’s the name on my receipt.
Well, needless to say, SHE needs to learn how to make a “proper” shake!!!
And I’ll just keep going to 4500 GATE CITY !

Stopped in for some French toast and a coffee. Got to the window and was told it would be a few minutes. Waited at the window for over 10 minutes before having to drive off to be on time for work. Got to work and saw the manager delivering my food to front counter about 20 minutes later. Food was piping hot and coffee was delicious. Saved my morning.
