Very friendly and calm atmosphere. I always go for their vegan/vegetarian buffet, this day they didn’t have it so I got the veggie combo which they have for the same price as the buffet. Also got a side of house made cottage cheese. So delicious and filling. This place is a great choice for veggies and meat eaters alike.

I was excited to eat here, but disappointed by so much of my dinner experience. First, I made a reservation online. I received an email and multiple text messages, plus confirmation leading up do the date (see photo). An important date–Valentine’s Day! Showed up on time 7:00 pm and there was a line. I informed the staff I had a reservation for 7pm. So did 3 other couples in the line. No tables reserved for any of us. Seated 7:10 when a bunch of people finished & left. Nobody took our order until 7:40. It was a serious wait. Asked twice for our beers. Got beers at 8:00. Food came 8:05-8:10. Vegetable combo was not great. Cabbage and red lentils were the best. Side of awaze lamb tibbs was good. Potato, spinach and yellow lentils extremely bland. Nobody asked what spice level we wanted. I would have said extra spicy. I love Ethiopian food. This restaurant definitely caters to a blander palate than any other I’ve tried. I asked for spicy sauce, which never came. Injera beneath the combo was completely soggy. I wanted more dry injera but we didn’t have a server to ask. Nobody visited our table again. I wished for a water refill all night long. Sugar packets on the table (for tea?) were dirty and covered in food dribbles from a previous customer. That was unpleasant. Ethiopian beer tasted great, despite being served warm. Then, after a whole dinner of inattentive service, our plates were whisked away immediately and the bill arrived without us asking. Time to go I guess! I was ready to chalk it up to a neighborhood restaurant that isn’t used to high volume nights and give them another chance, before the final problem: my credit card payment. My card was taken away to be charged. Suddenly the woman at the next table asked, “Are you Alison?” Yes, why? The staff had given my paid bill and credit card to a different table. They were still eating. This woman, bless her, wanted to be sure she didn’t assist with identity theft. She checked my ID before handing my credit card back to me. Literally, a random customer took better care of my credit card than the restaurant staff. It’s one thing to have a busy night and make service mistakes. It’s another thing to endanger a customer and hand their credit card to a stranger. That is negligence. I just scrolled reviews and I see that this HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. If you do eat here, keep a close eye on your card. That could have been a costly headache. I will not go back.

Great place to hang out for dinner. Very nice environment and great food. Coffee is quite an interesting taste very different than the regular coffee I am used too.

My husband and I came here as we haven’t had African food in a really long time. I was excited.
We were seated and it took the guy about 20 minutes to take our order. I figured out he was working by himself while there were 3 management types sitting at a table having a meeting.
As I was sitting there looking around I noticed the place wasn’t kept up well. The bottom of the walls were dirty and beat up. I noticed the same in the bathroom as well as the trashcan top dirty. Hmmm. The details matter in a restaurant.
The food, my plate, which was a vegan plate with veggies and lentils was ice cold. Normally I would send something like that back but the guy seemed like he didn’t speak much English. My husband had a catfish dish which was hot, flavorful and comforting. I also had the Sorel Hibiscus to drink .. yum! I’ll be attempting to make that at home. They also didn’t bring hot towels to clean your hands with before eating. Since you eat this food wth your hands, that would have been nice.
When we’ve had African food in the past, the experience was much better. Don’t think I’d go back.

Honestly. I have a craving for Ethiopian food often and this is the closest place to my house. When I go, It’s never busy but because of so much chatter between staff I have to wait to get my order taken. I always have to remind them to bring back utensils. I am always served with out utensils. The quality of the food is declining. My food was served barely warm, almost like it was microwaved and set or just food prepared goods before. I also have to always go to the front to get my check. No one ever asks “how is your mean or refill” there was dry wine on the floor. This place is dirty and not clean. I honestly won’t be back. I just don’t feel like a valued customer. One time I did have a great experience. But that it out of the 5-6 other times I came.

Came in for early dinner and was promptly seated. Appreciated how staff answered questions and made a serving recommendation. Order took awhile to arrive. Food was flavorful and filling. Several vegetarian and non vegetarian option. Tea had a lovely taste. I came on a weekend; so, street parking was easy. Don’t know how weekday parking would be.

I drove 4 hours for business to Sacramento and had planned out to go to Queen Sheba for good rated Ethiopian that had GF injera. They do NOT have GF injera.
The atmosphere is a cold room with repairs being done in the middle of it. I decided to get my food to go.
Staff were ok, but let me wait and was much friendlier to people who spoke her language.
Food was ok, but not great value for the price. The house salad dressing was offensively sweet. I couldn’t eat it. The to go packaging was messy, dripping dressing through the box.
I wish I taken advice from a friend and drove the extra 20 minutes to go to Gursha.

I had no idea how amazing the cuisine could be. I’m newly vegan-adjacent and their menu has so many tasty options! We had the lunch buffet and bought another sampler platter to take home for dinner. And… if you like honey, pick up a bottle of their house-made Tej… a delicious honey wine!

Order to served time was a little long. But the food was goood. The samosa with lentil filling was great! It is served with sweet n spicy chilli sauce. The veggie platter was really good and enough for 2 people. Food was fresh.

I am so very excited. I finally finally finally made it to Queen Sheba restaurant. I had been wanting to go for years. I asked one of my closest friends to come with me and there was always a reason why we were never able to make it. I was always ready but, there was always something that hindered our trip. I made it today for dinner with my daughter. We both had never been before and were excited to try a new cuisine and enjoy some Ethiopian food. We both tried the vegetarian combo plate and I loved it. Everything was delicious and fresh and it was so filling. I am still full and I barely ate half of my food. Everything was sooo good. I will definitely go back another time. My daughter and I really enjoyed the food and the experience.
