The food however is blah. We’ve tried several things here and have gone a couple time but never really liked anything. Nothing is worth ordering twice so we’ve tried several items on the menu looking for what’s really good. Its all mid from what we’ve had.
We’ve tried the elote, the dipper sampler, the lime enchiladas I think they were called and a couple other things. Overall there just isn’t a lot of flavor or care in the construction of the plate and it seems like the quality of the actual ingredients is pretty low (yet the prices are relatively high for the area).
Never had the drinks so can’t really give a review on that but just needs a menu revamp or some better quality ingredients maybe.
The ambiance and music is nice. Some of the seats are torn but overall really like the atmosphere.
Overall not the worst place but not really a first pick (or even a 5th) either.
Recently, I tried making a reservation for 30 people.
We had everyone confirmed they are coming, had a set time, and we were excited to share good food with all of our people.
We were told by the manager that they don’t take reservations and that its first come first serve. Thats fine. We get it.
We tried to verify at that point that they could accommodate a group that big.
We weren’t told no, just that again, they couldn’t take reservations.
Day of, we had two people in our party call ahead again, ahead of the ancitipated time of arrival, to tell them that we were still coming and tried to make sure they had the room and were prepared.
Manager on the phone was short and snippy saying they don’t take reservations on the first call. It took another person in our party on a different phone call to get her to say that the restaurant was empty at the moment so we were good to come by.
When we arrived, the manager stuffed us in a corner and was being difficult when we asked for a different space to have this dinner in what was an empty and understaffed restaurant.
It took very much negotiating to get her to give us a better spot because of the potential of having other customers come in overruled the current party of 30…. just a reminder the restaurant had maybe 3 tables taken up at 4p and then we had our group of people. She made it a point to state we needed to have the space cleared by 6. Mind you, we got there at 4, and because it was understaffed it took almost to 5 to get all of our orders in.
This manager made it very clear that the *potential * for more customers was more important than the current 30 people in front of her.
I have always liked the food but everything came out super cold. At that point, we were tired of asking for better service from a manager who was more preoccupied about money they could potentially make with the imaginary customers.
The ONLY saving grace was a server named Luz and the fellow that helped her. Thank you to you two for trying to make a celebratory wedding dinner into a better experience than what we were first greeted with.
All in all its left a bad taste in all of our mouths and many of us have expressed never wanting to give them our busines agin. Its quite a shame because the food is honestly really good but the managment is enough to deter me from wanting to come back.
Ps. Not sure why the outside terrace was closed, but hopefully next time we visit it’s open.
