Stopped in for an anniversary dinner. We got the chefs board and were surprised with the value for money. Everything we ate was fabulous and high quality. Our server Jonathan was very attentive and knowledgeable. They remembered we were celebrating and surprised us with a small dessert at the end, a kind but very thoughtful gesture.

High prices, low service!
I had just arrived from Canada and my family and I decided to go out for a nice dinner. All of the steaks were over cooked. I decided to say something to the server about mine being medium instead of medium rare, and that the glass of red wine that I had ordered to come with my meal, never came out and I had to ask for it but only received it as I was eating my last bit of my meal. The were busy but terrible service in my opinion and definitely not a good look for a “fine dining” restaurant. Waters were also never refilled, we were never asked if we wanted another drink or dessert. After 15 minutes of finishing our meals, we left the table to pay, with all of our empty glassware and plates left at the table. The manager admitted they were under staffed. He comped two of the steaks and apologized profusely which was appreciated.

Best ever, wonderful service. dermot is a great host Millie a Lovely and professional waitress. The scotch is perhaps the best steak I’ve ever experienced best experiences medium rare. Great atmosphere well worth the price.

Situated within the Sofitel hotel complex, Jervois Steakhouse offers a fantastic dining experience with top-notch food and service. We came here straight after a long hike and road trip back from Mt Cook — still in our hiking gear — and the team couldn’t have been more welcoming. The atmosphere is elegant without being pretentious, making it a comfortable spot to unwind after a big day.
We ordered the chef’s platter, which came with a beautifully tender sirloin, a lamb rack, and another generous cut of steak, all accompanied by five sauces. The horseradish was a standout — sharp, creamy, and the perfect complement to the meat. While the lamb was a touch dry, the steaks were cooked to perfection: juicy, flavourful, and perfectly charred. The steak-cut chips were absolutely addictive — crispy on the outside and soft on the inside — and the fresh salad balanced everything nicely.
The service was warm and attentive throughout, adding to the overall experience.
A must-visit for anyone craving a quality steak and a relaxed, refined atmosphere in Queenstown.

We had an amazing dining experience here! The service was outstanding — Tony, our server, was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. Truly one of the best service experiences I’ve had, highly recommend asking for him!
The food was also top-notch from the starters to the main courses. Every dish was well-prepared and flavorful. The mushrooms were rich and delicious, the venison was perfectly cooked, and the steak was absolutely outstanding.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for excellent food and exceptional service!

We walked into this restaurant to try to grab a table but it was fully booked. We were offered bar sitting and we grabbed it. We enjoyed the lamb and the Angus Rib Eye very much so we decided to go back
We reserved a table so our 2nd visit was mire comfortable. Service was still mindful and attentive, setting was nice and cozy with the mountain peaks seen from our table. The food was still great, the starters, mains, side dishes and sauces were beautifully presented. We had the lamb and the venison both cooked to perfection.
I highly recommend this place if you want good meat!

Hidden restaurant under the Gondola which could have easily missed. The staff was very welcoming and allowed me to sit at the bar while they worked. Their menu wasn’t visible on the door or outside because they still are too busy to accommodate additional walk-in which I was. The NZ Lamb chop and Mac & Cheese was excellent!! Try the Basil Old Fashioned.

Probably one of the better steak house you can get in south island. Reservation is needed. Folks here are also polite. Only downside was although we had a reservation, we had to wait at the sidelines for ~10 mins before we could get seated. Other then that, still a pleasant dining experience.
