If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. From the moment we walked in, the employees at the front were welcoming and energetic. Our waitress, Karlyn, was great – attentive and showed a genuine enjoyment waiting our table. We got three different margaritas. Probably THE BEST place for Margarita’s! So many varieties, fresh. Food was delicious: jerk chicken quesadillas and shrimp enchiladas. Hoping we come back before we leave town. A must place to eat in this area!

The presentation was all nice but the flavors didn’t match. The red rice tasted stale and the piña colada could use more flavor. Side servings were also very small like the beans & guacamole.

Had a great dinner at Red Mesa in Boyne City tonight! We saw their specials on FB and decided to check it out. Excellent food and even better service from our server, Stephanie. Plus, bonus live music! Can’t wait to return.

I wish I could do 4.5 stars. We got the Yucatán chicken, and it was wonderful! The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the squash, zucchini, rice, and black beans were delicious. The chips and salsa were just OK, though. The chips were hard, and the salad was very mild. The restaurant is cool with vibrant murals and cool decor. Plenty of indoor seating and a bit of outdoor seating as well.

Stopped in for a late supper after an evening tubing at Boyne. Our server was fantastic, young guy didn’t get a name but he was running hard! We had chips and salsa along with chicken and steak fajitas which were pretty good. The local root beer was fantastic! My only complaint was the hot sauce selection was very dirty.
He brought over a bucket of different sauces which was great, but the bottles looked like they have never been washed and were a bit grimy which spoiled a 5 star rating.

Karlyn was one the best waitresses that I’ve ever had. She gave excellent suggestions on all aspects of the menu. The margaritas were some of the best I’ve ever had. Their mixer doesn’t taste like the generic sour mix you can get at a grocery store. The food was great. We ordered the shrimp enchilada and the jerk chicken quesadilla.

This is a good Mexican joint, has good options for adults and kids. They charge for chips and salsa… what’s that? They have a small batch soda company supplying the Pop. Kids menu has enough to satisfy most children. The atmosphere is good.

We stopped in thinking …it’s going to be like every other place we have visited.
I was NOT. He Birria tacos were juicy and flavorful with the meat melting in your mouth! The Carne asada burrito was fantastic. Oh! And we can forget the flautas which were so yummy we could have eaten a second helping but wanted to save room for our meal! We also had super great service! There is also ample room for a wheelchair and room for a cane if you are using them. The bathrooms are ADA accessible. I did not check on a large print menu as my husband dined with me.
Cost is about average for this area but def worth the price!
Like and follow for more!

I wish I could give it a 10! I love Mexican food, but having visited many regions of Mexico for work over the years, I KNOW good Mexican food. And although Red Mesa does still have small American twists to their food, it is GLORIOUS! The carnitas, shredded chicken and shredded beef were all mouth watering. The beans and rice are also very flavorful.
We had the 3 enchilada and 3 taco meals. The meats are so well seasoned. The portion size are great. The food is fresh and the prices are on point for the quality of food.
We live in Gaylord and have been going to a local (better than average) Mexican restaurant, but this is our new go-to by far. We plan to try the Red Mesa in Boyne as well. The ambiance is on point and the service was good.
Be sure to try Red Mesa; your money will be well spent!

Fine restaurant! Wonderful service! The Stuffed Poblano with fire roasted poblano, roasted chicken, chorizo, red rice, chihuahua cheese, tomato chipotle sauce, yucatan rice & black beans was exceptional. Wetted my whistle with a local light shanty… refreshing!
