First things first — we LOVE spicy food. This is the first Thai restaurant we’ve been to that is actually spicy. Level 5 truly means LEVEL 5. When our server asked, “Are you sure? There are no take-backsies,” they weren’t kidding!

We started with the Taste of Thai appetizer, and it was absolutely packed with flavor. Honestly, that alone could have been our dinner. It came with multiple dipping sauces plus extra spices like sriracha and hot mustard. I would come back just for that appetizer.

For our mains, we ordered the Arizona Heatwave (beef red curry) at level 5 and the Chicken Pad Thai at level 3. Both were fantastic. We appreciated that they came with a choice of plain brown or white rice, it definitely helped balance out the heat. The portions were generous, and we were so full after the appetizer that we ended up taking most of our entrees home.

The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. We can’t wait to come back!

We’ve been here before, so we already knew what to expect. The service was great and the food was fantastic—absolutely nothing to complain about. We didn’t have a reservation, but luckily we were able to get seated right away. I don’t eat spicy food at all, and even though I ordered the Panang curry at the mildest spice level, it still had a bit of heat. That said, it was still very good and easy to eat, even if I was sweating quite a bit. I would absolutely love to come back again.

Incredible Thai food. I got the coco chili fish and the crispy basil chicken, which are 2 dishes I haven’t seen anywhere else. All Thai food is flavorful in my opinion, but I tasted flavors in their food that I haven’t tasted anywhere else. Even one of the sauces to the appetizers my friend got, he let me try some, it was delicious and had a flavor that was so unique I couldn’t identify it, which for me is a good thing. If you look at pictures of their food on yelp or google and think, “well it doesn’t look like anything special” think again, the flavors are plentiful and some of them very unique. My food came out hot and fresh. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and plain looking, but I don’t really care about how the atmosphere is, I only care about the food. Service was great.

I don’t review often, but felt compelled after reading all of the really negative recent reviews. Got it to go, entire process took about 10 minutes, food was very hot temperature wise and not very spicy – I got level one, which is medium here. Enjoyed it and would go back. Peanut Curry with white rice

I really wanted to like this place but it was truly not very good. I couldn’t eat the food bc the sauce had a cloying, sticky, sour sauce and the chicken was over-fried and tough and chewy. The portion was very generous but that doesn’t matter very much if the food is not edible. I don’t often write negative reviews but this was pretty bad.

We had an incredible meal at Malee’s On Main! We started with the Taste of Thai appetizer, which was the perfect way to sample a little bit of everything. Every bite was packed with authentic flavors, but the coconut shrimp was hands down our favorite—crispy, perfectly cooked, and full of that delicious coconut crunch.

For our main dishes, we ordered the Tom Yum soup with chicken, and the portion was impressively large. The broth was bold, tangy, and just the right level of spice—comforting and flavorful in every spoonful. But the real standout of the night was the Coco Chili Fish—lightly flash-fried and served in an absolutely incredible coconut milk and chili paste sauce. That sauce was next level!

One thing to note: they’re currently in the process of changing ownership, so they aren’t serving alcohol while waiting on their new license. But honestly, the food was so good it didn’t even matter. We’ll definitely be back!

Tucked into Old Town Scottsdale, Malee’s Thai Bistro knows their way around crispy chicken. Their signature Crispy Basil Chicken comes with perfectly crunchy bite-sized pieces in a sweet-tangy tamarind chili sauce. Ordered it at heat level 2, but next time I’m cranking it up – it barely registered on the spice meter. Those flash-fried basil leaves though? Absolute game changers.

The Bourbon Sour made for a solid pairing, and I really needed this drink. The Old Town setting added a nice touch to the evening. If you’re a heat seeker like me, just remember to speak up about your spice preference. Pro tip: don’t let those crispy basil leaves go to waste – they’re like little flavor bombs.

We ordered delivery. The staff were super nice and told us they could make all the dishes vegan, but I guess they meant they would be removing the sauces. Portions were really big, and expensive, but just did not taste good. Definitely didn’t even taste like thai food. The veggies in the mix were not authentic thai, more like chinese food. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Chose this restaurant based on the reviews. Overall, I’d say it was pretty good. The appetizers were brought out quickly and were quite tasty. The curries were presented nicely, and the flavors were great. Unfortunately I ended up with an upset stomach later that night. Must have been something in the curry that isn’t normally there. Not sure what ingredient, unfortunately.

My family and I have come here many times and it’s always been one of our favorite Thai spots. However last night we got take out and it was some of the worst food I’ve ever had. I don’t know if they changed their cook. Our drunken noodles were completely dry and there was no chicken aside from stringy chopped up little pieces and the Exotic Fried Rice was mushy and had no flavor whatsoever. We paid over $40 for both these items. We do love this place but this was so disappointing for how good it’s been in the past.
