I liked the look and vibe of the restaurant, it definitely had an older country, grandma’s house, type feel. The staff were very friendly as well. The prices were good and affordable. The food however was very average, it wasn’t necessarily bad but it definitely wasn’t memorable. I have only eaten here once, today was the first time, so I have had limited exposure to their menu. However what I ate today was not very flavorful. Besides that, everything else was a good experience. I will also add that for the price, the food tasting average wasn’t necessarily a deal breaker.

Cozy and relaxed restaurant with delicious homemade food. Reasonable prices, as well. I got the chicken salad cold plate: homemade chicken salad, cottage cheese, homemade apple sauce, lettuce, tomato slices, onion, and pickles served with crackers. Generous portion. My son ordered fried chicken with mashed potatoes, apple sauce, and hush puppies. I admit to a bit of food envy when he bit into that crispy fried chicken. . He said it was hot and juicy. This was at 3 in the afternoon. It’s over an hour away from me, but I will make a point to come again!

A very cozy café with a warm, homelike atmosphere. The food tastes just like home — simple, fresh, and made with love. Every dish feels comforting and satisfying, as if it was cooked for you by family. The service is friendly and attentive, making you feel truly welcome. A perfect place to enjoy homemade-style meals and relax.

My father made my husband drive us all to this restaurant years ago in a snowstorm. It was worth it. It sits at the convergence of three counties. Inside you get that cozy mountain feel. A recent visit reminded me to come back here frequently. Our waitress was really nice and attentive even though it was busy. My vegetable plate was excellent and my friend had the pot roast, which was great. The pies are to die for.

I recently visited Famous Lloyd’s Rock House Restaurant in Linville Falls, North Carolina, and had an incredible experience. My truck got broken down, and they offered me with parking during the daytime, which I truly appreciate. The people there are humble, kind, and genuinely welcoming. The service was amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious. You can really feel the heart and soul in how they treat their customers. It felt special, especially as a first-time visitor. I highly recommend everyone to stop by—this place is more than a restaurant, it’s an experience.

I love this place! Every time I visit the Linville Gorge area I have to stop by and get a hiking favorite of mine. The delicious fried bologna sandwich and theirs can’t be beat! Not to mention, the restaurant sits on the border of three county lines and can literally sit in each of the counties. It’s great food, solid service, and a great atmosphere. Go see for yourself
and take in the history of the restaurant, the area, and enjoy the great outdoors of Western Carolina. Cheers!

From the perspective of my 12 yr old daughter: Louise’s was a cozy restaurant. Not fancy but nice. There were a lot of pictures and paintings to keep me occupied if I got bored, but the lighting was dim. The waitress was polite and friendly and came around every now and then to see if we needed anything. As an appetizer we got Fried Green Tomatoes. There were four of them and they came with two sauces which we couldn’t identify, but they were good. The food took some time to come out, but then again we were a party of ten and not the only ones there. I got the Veggie Platter of mashed potatoes, veggie beef soup, and green beans. The menu didn’t note that the mashed potatoes had gravy on them and the green beans were a little overcooked, but the soup was good. My meal also came with a biscuit, which I did not expect. For dessert I got Apple Pie, it was excellent. It was just the right serving size. Not too big and not too small. The meal filled me up and there were leftovers.

I had the meatloaf special. The meatloaf was dense and lacked spices. The gravy was flavorful though. I would recommend the biscuit over the hush puppies. The fried okra was good, but the mashed potatoes were dense and not creamy. Servers were friendly and came by the table regularly

Louise’s Rock House has always been an easy choice for local folks for decades. The food is consistently delicious Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Service with a smile! located at the meeting point of McDowell, Burke and Avery counties.
It has been my favorite go to for breakfast, the biscuit sandwiches made to order are outstanding.
The new owner Hoyt Johnson has kept the same relaxed atmosphere. Highly Recommended….
