The stuffed sopapillas were awesome. The service was top notch, and all the customers were very friendly. Such a great atmosphere filled with families and good cheer.

On a lunch hunt in Santa Fe, we asked Liza at the Best Western on Cerrillos for a solid local recommendation. Without missing a beat, she pointed us to Los Amigos, noting that their red chile is the only one she loves almost as much as her mother’s. Honestly, that was all we needed to hear.
The moment we walked in, the place had that perfect “busy but not chaotic” energy, and we were seated right away. A friendly young man greeted us with water, chips, and salsa almost instantly. Shortly after, a stunning young woman named Vitiana arrived to take our order—and she quickly became the star of our visit.
I went with the Huevos Rancheros, my wife chose the chicken enchiladas, and both dishes arrived quickly with generous portions. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and flat-out delicious.
But the real standout was Vitiana’s service. She was warm, gracious, genuinely kind, and wonderfully attentive—the kind of server who elevates an already great meal. Every request was met with a smile and effortless efficiency. Simply put: Wow!
We’ll absolutely be back to Los Amigos the next time we’re in Santa Fe—and hopefully that’s sooner rather than later.

While I was initially interested in this restaurant based on photos of the food, I found the actual flavors lacking any spiciness, and it almost seemed like no salt was used anywhere. I couldn’t detect any real difference in flavor between the red and green sauces, and the beans were particularly disappointing.
Service was friendly but very slow, and there was an odd, almost antiseptic smell in the main room.
Marking it off my list for future visits to Santa Fe.

The food was not good at all. We ended up leavjng our food there most of which was not eaten. The place was dirty. It needed vacuuming and a deep cleaning. The bathroom was dirty and the bathroom floor was sticky and looked like it hadn’t been washed in years. Several employees were just sitting around talking where they could have been cleaning and earning their wages. We were so disappointed being that we had been there several times before and we enjoyed. I don’t know if management changed but I would not recommend this restaurant at all.

There are two seating areas with the smaller of the two at the entrance where we were seated. The menu has breakfast, lunch, and dinner options including non-Mexican food such as burgers. I ordered a large burrito that was stuffed with chicken and had the green chili sauce. The rice was different, but I liked how it was prepared. The whole pinto beans were what I would expect. Overall the meal was good. Stephen had the tamales with red sauce. They were on the smaller size so if you are really hungry get them as an appetizer. This dish also comes with rice and beans. Strangely a single tortilla showed up on a plate, but neither of us knew what it was about. The wait staff seemed a little preoccupied, but they came around when needed. They have slices of 5-layer chocolate and carrot cake, and a flan for dessert. We got a piece of the delicious chocolate to go!

Whenever I come here there are about equal numbers of Latinos (especially families) and Anglos which indicates to me a certain balance of both authenticity and broad appeal here in the American Southwest. The food is more TexMex than Northern New Mexican – I find it correspondingly milder and blander, more like a suburban Texan’s idea of what Mexican food should taste like rather than the real deal. But that’s what a lot of Anglos are looking for, so it makes business sense.

What I like: the green chile stew is very tasty, if overly salty to my taste. The Mexican Platter is what I usually get and is pretty good in spite of it’s TexMex leanings. Its combination of chile relleno, pork tamal, ground beef taco, and cheese enchilada suits me well. Their sopapillas are awfully good – but good sopapillas are found almost everywhere in this city.

This is not my go-to Northern New Mexican restaurant (That would be the excellent La Choza) but I do bring out-of-towners here who I know are not adventurous eaters and do not like piquante foods, and they like the food. It also has a distance advantage as I live only minutes away. If you judge restaurants by their parking lots, Los Amigos’s is almost full most of the time – it is quite popular.

My order this time was carry-out.

Los Amigos Restaurant was recommended to us and is was excellent. It is definitely a local Santa Fe favorite. Keira took care of us and did a very good job. When ordering, she explained all of our options. My wife ordered the Frito Pie, which is a local favorite. She really enjoyed it. I ordered the large Adovado Burrito. It was stuffed with large chunks of very good pork. Inside, they had red chile with their other ingredients. I asked them to cover the top with green chilie, which they did. It was very good. We will return if in the area again

Was reccomend to give this place a try by one of our Santa Fe customers and boy did it not disappoint. Carne adovda is excellent! One of my employees ordered the rib eye and eggs and he didn’t speak until he polished his plate lol. I ordered the Mexican platter that came with one cheese enchilada, one chile relleno, one pork tamale & one beef taco. And was served with pinto beans and spanish rice. Not one complaint! Excellent. We also ordered their chili cheese fries and those were delicious as well! Service was prompt and waitresses all worked together to ensure everything was taken care of. Ohhhh and I almost forgot the best part of Los Amigos…. THIER SOPAIPILLAS!!! Oh they are easily the best I have ever had! Large soft pillows of goodness! I ate one with my meal and one with honey. DEELISH!!!
