Charcoal Grill in Burlington is top-notch!
We have to give a BIG shout out to Tammy!! She is phenomenal and goes above and beyond expectations! We used Charcoal Grill for our wedding at Veterans and it was an excellent choice- food was superb (ask about the Mac & cheese!) and Tammy was so pleasant and easy to work with! Would recommend for anyone needing catering. And, as just a place to have lunch/dinner, it is so great with a sweet view of the river- ample indoor and outdoor seating. Great cheese curds, salads and pizza!! Get the chocolate spoon cake too- delicious!

Disappointed. Gave it more than 1 star cause I usually don’t have an issue but tonight really soured the place for me. Ordered spinach artichoke dip and a rack of ribs meal as a carry out. I usually get what’s pictured on their website but I initially only received the ribs and spinach artichoke dip. Went inside and they said sorry and handed me a container of vegetables as the side for the ribs. Had to show them what’s included on my phone to get the actual sides but still had a missing container of chicken dumpling soup and a tiny container of coleslaw. I gave up after that.
And then the taste, their spinach artichoke was too salty, the ribs were burnt, and the coleslaw just tasted of vinegar. The bread was the best thing out of the whole meal.
This was a waste of money.

This is honestly the most mediocre food I’ve ever had in a place that has, what? 5 locations? Smash burger that’s just a frozen patty pretending to be anything like a smash burger. I honestly couldn’t even eat half of it. No flavor, no thought to it. Culver’s would have been a better choice. (Which is how they advertise it in the menu already).
They say it’s not frozen but, let’s be real. It’s cooked to oblivion. They took it off the bill so kudos for that.
Blue box Mac and cheese for kids that’s boiled to oblivion and basically cheese mush. Like, come on. Do better than this. If you’re going to give kids junk Mac and cheese you can at least try to cook it somewhat decently.
Pretzels with no salt on it but they sprinkle some on the plate like it might help a little bit.
Music choice was good though.

You know when you walk in to a restaurant on Valentine’s Day and it’s empty you should just leave. Will we were really hunger and don’t have time to try another place. What a mistake that was. I’ve always loved Charcoal Grill but it’s been awhile. Clearly they aren’t the same. The restaurant is exactly the same as early 2000’s, the bathroom was disgusting and dirty also. I ordered 1/2 rotisserie chicken which they are know for and ribs another staple also a loaded baked potato and veggies. Everything but the veggies were dry, the meat was clearly not from today it was dry not rotisseried at all but clearly baked before serving they threw it on the fire for what looked like 5-10 seconds. The ribs were actually drier than the chicken and clearly not from today with a plop of sauce thrown on top. The potato was again not even close to fresh very dried out and what was supposed to be loaded had no butter or sour cream just cheese and some bacon. The veggies were alright but mostly just soaked in some sort of sugar butter sauce that was a bit too much. Can’t say it all was bad though my wife’s steak which was order medium rare came rare which I prefer so I ate part of that seeing that my meal was pure trash. I can see why it’s not busy, the food is terrible, the prices for said food are way too high for the quality but on the bright side we did have a good server. Would not recommend ever for anyone no matter how hungry.

Something has certainly changed. We have been here several times over the past few years. Has been at least 1 year since last visit. Typically very busy. We arrived a Saturday evening , few vehicles in lot, no one at bar and only a couple of tables seated. sat a bar waiting friends to arrive. Bar tender too busy chatting to other staff to help us out for 5 minutes. Table server was great. Food dry , over cooked. 2 – 1/2 bone beef ribs so dry I could get just two bites. Entire time we were there just 2 additional patrons arrived. Yes it was a cold night, however all other restaurants we passed were full and busy. I know now why a Saturday night provided for an empty restaurant. Sorry I wont be able to return again

My husband and I stopped at Charcoal Grill. Our server was friendly and nice but slow. My onion straws were cold then after awhile my husband had to tell. She brought me new ones n they weren’t hot but I kept them. So I have leftover chicken n straws. They’re way overpriced n we won’t go back anytime soon. Plus the Potato soup was thick like pudding.

Stopped by while visiting Burlington because it was one of the first restaurants that popped up on Google and looked like it was in a nice location by the walkway by the river and looked like they had a nice menu. It did not disappoint! We loved the burger bar, service and atmosphere! Will stop by again if in the area!

We had not been here for a while then we saw a coupon for the fish fry and thought it would be a good time to try it again. We took some time looking over the menu just to be sure what we wanted. Parts of the menu were a bit confusing like the baked fish is not a fish fry option, it is a completely separate option. Based on the menu it seemed to be an option but I might have saw it wrong. Also, there were no beverages listed on any menu but the waitress team was able to go through the options for us a couple times. Strange that nothing would be in the menu about beverages.
We did have a new waitress who was doing a good job but had a few answers incorrect. Pretty sure that will be better with more time – her trainer was there to assist and was doing good with her part.
As far as the food – the main courses were very good. I had a hard time deciding between being able to walk out on my own and having more fish! The only item questionable was the clam chowder. It seemed darker than normal and very salty. When a supervisor was told about this, he took it away and offered the other type of soup but we declined. Sadly, the couple bites we took still cost us full price. Oh well, no soup for me!
I would be interested to check out some of their other options as I don’t recall any issues in the past with the food or service. Just a little mixed this time. I did appreciate that they posted a credit card use fee on the receipt so I had an option. Some places don’t display this fee as well.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Absolutely unacceptable service. I understand places being short staffed, but when you wait 15 minutes at your table and no one comes to even get our drink order.

Very, very nice place to eat. Our waitress was excellent and made our visit worth the drive from Kenosha. Keep up the great work. Thank you.
