I ordered a combination plate with a Chile Relleno, taco + rice/beans. Plate came out hot, food was not. The taco was chicken and that was the only thing I ate, it had decent flavor. The pepper was burnt but super rubbery, could hardly cut with a knife. When the waitress came back, I did tell her about the food, and she offered me something else, which I declined because at that point we were almost ready to go.
My mother + aunt had enchiladas, that didn’t have any cheese and their rice and beans were also cold. I’ve never seen enchiladas with no cheese.
My grandma ate her tostada, which you can’t really mess that up.
This place is definitely not authentic. The manager was very rude and unprofessional, which was not necessary.
Even after moving to another city six years ago, we still make the drive just to eat here. That alone says everything. The food is consistently amazing, full of flavor, and clearly made with care and tradition.
The staff deserves just as much praise as the food. Everyone is always so kind, welcoming, and wonderful. It feels like coming home every time we walk in.
If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food with heart, history, and incredible people, Los Palominos is it.
We also had a couple of tired small children with us, and I felt the music was literally turned up to drown them out.
At the time of our visit, maybe 3- 5 tables total were occupied in the restaurant. The food came out quickly.
We had to ask for a water refill. Especially in a Mexican restaurant where food can be spicier, you shouldn’t have to ask for a drink refill. Bring a pitcher of water & just fill the empty glass. It’s just water! This is a pet peeve of mine, especially if you pay $3-$4.00 for a soda and you run out of beverage during your meal and the waitress doesn’t come back. ESPECIALLY if the waitress only has 2 or 3 tables.
When I paid the bill, the hostess was more interested in her cell phone. Handed me the receipt with her head still in her phone, not even looking up. Not the customer service experience I enjoy. At least engage with the customer for the couple minutes it takes to cash them out. Will we go back ..no
After waiting too long to be seated it just seemed like we were treated like one of those guests that come in too late and they would rather go home.
Waitress was cold and place was dark. My wife has to use her phone to read the menu. The restaurant seemed clean and it had some business.
The margaritas were strong and too sour for our taste and it took a long time to get our order. Just an over all vibe they were not happy for our business
The food finally arrived and I was a little let down on the quantity as my burrito was small. The taste was authentic but not that “wow” taste I was hoping for as Mexican food is my favorite. I was not let down as it did have a good flavor and worth eating.
I was let down as the waitress could have offered us another Margarita but failed to do that or even ask us if we wished for desert. A word of advise to your business is up sell… teach your waitress this gets there tip bigger and your sales higher… I probably would have had another.
So 4 stars which is good in my book for the food
