nice place to go with friends
Very recommended to visit
Once the waitress brought us our drinks I asked if the cokes she was holding were diet or regular (as it’s a large table all mobile ordering I didn’t know who ordered what exactly) and she replied bluntly ‘I don’t know.’ I told her that we had ordered some diets and just wanted to make sure they were ours to which she said ‘well then they’re probably yours aren’t they?!’ I personally found this comment quite harsh and rude, it was completely unnecessary for a simple question – her not knowing wasn’t what was wrong but her response left a sour taste to start the night.
Fast forward later into the night, we ordered deserts as a table and everyone’s arrived apart from mine. It wasn’t busy (we were the only table left) and said to the waitress ‘excuse me but we’ve ordered another desert about 30 minutes ago? Just wandering where it is as everyone is planning on leaving now.’ She rolled her eyes at me and pushed past our entire group as were saying our goodbyes. We went up 10 minutes later to ask if we could just get a refund as it was 10 minutes till close and people are wanting to leave. She looked at me and said ‘I’m literally making it now. You can wait.’
I found the overall night a complete disappointment. The food was amazing and the other server behind the bar was so kind and caring, but the before mentioned waitress ruined what was meant to be a heartfelt goodbye to someone leaving the country indefinitely.
The atmosphere was well lit and the tables spacious and accessible by pushchair. Not many people on a week day for lunch so plenty of spaces.
Our server was very friendly and dishes arrived quickly.
We tried most of the pasta dishes on the menu which were spicy sausage, pollo cacciatore, gamberoni, lasagne, beef and red wine tortellini and pollo funghi. The portions were decent and the pasta was nice in terms of balance of flavours. The only exception was the beef and red wine tortellini which was too salty. The ultimate calzone was tasty as well.
Had a discounted rate for parking at the long stay car park from the restaurant as well.
I think it was mainly the discount but all-in-all, these were good dining experiences for a chain.
