Last night my family took my husband out for his birthday dinner at Outback Steakhouse.
Our server and his trainee were great at first, but about halfway through the meal, we couldn’t seem to get a hold of them at all. They were nowhere to be found. This resulted in our drinks not being refilled at all and my steak that was red through the center (ordered well done) not being able to be recooked. I literally had to ask 4 times for a refill on Diet Coke, and it was put in a to go cup (pictured below) as a not so subtle way of the waiter hinting that we had overstayed our welcome. By the time it was checked on about my steak that wasn’t touched, everyone else was done, so I didn’t get to eat steak and they ended up just removing it from the bill.
In my opinion, the worst part was that I tried to use my $40 in gift cards that I was given a year ago at this location due to my children and I not getting our food for 90 minutes, and I was initially told no. Apparently, they had expired. I was not told they had an expiration date when I first got them, so this was pretty shocking to me.
After a lot of back and forth with the waiter, I was eventually able to get these honored and have the $40 taken off our final bill. It was not a fun process though, and it did not make me feel like a valued patron at this establishment for a second time in a year.
So, even though I usually love Outback, I am definitely not a fan of this location.
Our waitress was phenomenal( reindeer ears ♡)
We did receive a discount. But I dont feel like that justify the lack of care for the multiple issues we had.
She tried to justify many of the complaints. But my filet mignon tasted like and looked like it was cooked in a microwave, but cold. Going out is a luxury for a birthday and definitely not the experience someone would want.
On the positive side, the salad, bread and veggies were ok. Their burgers are good, but I will never go there for a steak again.
You know it’s off to a bad start when it takes 10 minutes just to get water, in a room that isn’t even full. When the steaks came out I was so disappointed. The Outback steaks that I’m used to were thick and well cut, not 80% fat and thin. I requested medium and got a well done steak, my husband asked for medium rare and got a medium well. We were never provided a refill on our water either.
The coconut shrimp were good, but that’s about it.
I’m just so disappointed, the Outback used to be a place to go and celebrate. However this particular location is depressing, gives the impression that the Outback has given up completely. I’d highly advise going somewhere else.
Can’t recall what happened the first time, but the second time they couldn’t get the Blooming Onions right (half the reason for going to Outback!). They came out undercooked and they replaced it with another badly cooked one. This was a couple years ago.
We tried it again today hoping they worked out their issues, but this time they served old soggy salads for everyone. Soggy to the point it felt like eating a wet paper towel – no crunch at all. We each had one bite and pushed it to the side.
The last problem with this location is the atmosphere. Bright white lights and not cozy at all. Remember Outbacks that have the low table lights and soft lights? This place is the opposite of that.
Go to the Arlington Smokey Point location if you are North of Seattle. Much better over there.
The steamed veggies was nothing but old nasty corn that wasn’t edible. Medium well on the steak, but it was still pink and cold in the center. I drove back to have it fixed and they closed their doors at 8:30. I swear it says 9pm on the door.
I will never eat here again and I will make sure my family and loved ones don’t go through this disgusting experience.
