This used to be the BEST Italian bread around. I don’t understand what happened since it was sold. I was upset they were closing but then happy they sold it including recipes to an employee. But since then this is the WORST Italian bread I have ever had! How can it be so bad when they were given the recipe???? Now it doesn’t even rise and there is no crust on it like Italian bread is supposed to have. How this place stays open is beyond me. The photo on the left as you can see is bad!! The photo on the right is what Italian bread should look like. I’m so sad cardinelis is gone forever.

Stopped in to get Bomber buns and a round loaf of Italian bread. Their breads are the best, the nice young lady behind the counter was super helpful.
I never knew that they had fresh raw pizza dough in the cooler, next time I visit I’m picking some up and will make a couple of pizzas at home.

The best bread in Kenosha. Paiellis is decent (not as good as it was when I was a kid) but not as good as Cardinali’s in my opinion. Growing up in Kenosha, we bought this bread from the time I was born to the time I left for college. I’m sure my grandparents also grew up eating this bread. Some of the best in the world in my opinion. I’ve been in Missouri for 20+ years now and miss this bread (and Carls pizza) very much. I usually buy 20 loaves and freeze them when I come back home.

Excellent bakery and a wonderful hidden gem. Their quality of bread and other baked goods are delicious. The prices are extremely affordable. They also take special orders, I order special breads for muffaletta sandwiches.
If your in the area I would recommend you stop in but get there early.

been going here since the 60’s, they even let us fold our papers that we delivered inside. I still live close, and they still have the best Italian bread I have ever tasted. Long Johns are overloaded with custard, but that isn’t necessarily bad. Day old buns are a bargain if you have a cookout and toast them.

The bakery is supposed to open at., 7:00 am. I arrived at 8 to pick up an order that is already paid for. It is 9:00 and I am still waiting along with four other customers for the place to open.

BEST BREAD IN THE WORLD!!
My aunt Lena Cardinali and her husband ran this Bakery around the 1920s. My dad worked here in the 40’s before shipping out in the Navy in World War II. I and my brother worked there in the early eighties for a while after my dad’s Bakery in Racine closed, which I worked in from age 9 – 17. Thank you for keeping it running. I know how hard the work is.

I wanted it to be so much more. Stale day old donuts and a very limited selection. I paid $6.75 walked out with 6 donuts and 2 cookies. If the donuts had been fresh i would gladly have paid more. Cookies were amazing (according to my wife).

Personally I haven’t had a bad experience here and get bread and donuts for the kids. However, this morning my son went in to get donuts but forgot his mask so as entering he was asking the clerk if she had a mask and she was telling him masks are mandatory and wasn’t getting that he was asking for one so he could purchase donuts and she out right said what do you want I’m busy…. that’s rude !

Amazing local bakery that thankfully is still supported and loved. The best local substitute for old school New Orleans french bread. Delicious sweet treats. Grab Cardinalis for ALL your bread … loaf, buns, all of it! You’ll not be disappointed.
