I brought my wife, nephew, and niece for supper after grocery shopping at Stew Leonard’s. To be fair, it is my fault for not reading the sign on the way into the restaurant.

However, NO WHERE on planet earth should four Chinese buffets cost 45 dollars a plate for a total just shy of $200. It was 33 bucks for food, four bucks for a fountain soda, and toss in extra for the MANDATORY 20% tip. For perspective, the buffet near my home is normally 15 dollars per person. For additional perspective, I took my wife to WALT DISNEY’s MAGIC KINGDOM for a fancy dinner at Beauty and the Beast castle…and IT COSTs LESS this Chinese Buffet.

Likewise:
1) The floor was slippery.
2) Nothing in the buffet was anything special…no sushi, no dim sum, no hibachi. Standard buffet fare with perhaps a little more seafood as it was a weekend during Lent.
3) Most of the food had been sitting out on the steam lines for a while. For example: White rice was crunchy, fries and chicken nuggets soggy, frog’s legs greasy, and seafood steamed soggy or greasy.
4) The restaurant puts a mandatory tip…but when you the final receipt…they put the tip line on a second time.
5) The price is only on the glass door outside the restaurant.
6) The overall experience is not worth $200 bucks. Not even close.

It’s Chinese buffet. It’s for tired shoppers and kids. So be a Chinese buffet and charge Chinese buffet prices.

My husband and I absolutely love bringing our two-year-old daughter here. It’s become such a special little outing for our family. The service is always excellent, and the food is consistently delicious. One of our favorite parts is letting her feed the koi fish before we leave (definitely bring quarters!) — it makes the whole experience even more fun for her.

My personal favorites are the steak and the salmon, but honestly, everything we’ve tried has been really good. The quality for the price truly can’t be beat. For two adults and a child, including tip, we spend around $60 — which is crazy considering that fast food can cost just as much (if not more) and isn’t nearly as fresh or satisfying.

If I had one small suggestion, I’d love to see a little more variety in the dessert options. But overall, this place is a gem, especially for families. We’ll definitely keep coming back!

I am not sure how anyone can give this Chinese buffet less than 5 stars. I have been here 3 times in the last month and the selection is huge, the food is delicious, the staff are nice, and the fish are fun to watch!

Waiter waited for us to finish our drink in its entirety before refilling it. Even if it was literally two sips away, he would not come back until it was finished. The staff was just on their phones playing games and talking. The food was disgusting. The pizza was hard. And everything else was room temperature and cold. We all came back home and threw up. Never again. Do NOT recommend.

Visit this place with my girlfriend. The atmosphere is quiet, and the service is okay at best. Food was good. However, note that this place is definitely overpriced for what you get. I’ve eaten at many buffets. And the food here was only edible, not great. The service is lacking. In some places, the dirty place is left on the large clean plate stack. At 35$ a person. There are better places to eat at a fraction of the price. Best part are the dessert and the art. That it.

Food is not good enough to validate the price. I went out with my family for dinner, three of us, for a grand total of $120. It is $32 per person with an added 15% service charge on the weekends. Who can afford this? Why is a buffet with endless sub-par food priced this high? I frequented this location years ago and never remembered needing a bank loan to do so.

I don’t know what all the bad reviews are about..especially when looking at some of them when 3 of them are from way out of state and the only review for a CT place, is here…so being a foody, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about, plus I had things to do in Berlin..so figured to go check this place out firsthand.
Food…lots of chicken and then some other stuff. The Korean Chicken was delicious..the Italian chicken was a bit on the dry side..but it wasn’t so dry that it couldn’t be eaten. The pepper steak however…was cold. The rice was on the dry side..and the lo mein..that’s where the star disappeared..wasn’t edible. I mentioned it to the girl, she brought out the cook and manager and it was because the burner or warmer underneath wasn’t on. Simple mistake..it happens. There were no signs of food being in plastic as others have mentioned..there were no signs of food being recooked as you see in other restaurants.
Parking…it’s in the corner of a strip mall, so there was plenty of parking.
Busy? I went around 12:30 and there were prolly around 15-20 other people in the buffet; families, and casual diners. I don’t go out dinner…just because by that time, I’ve already ate at 4 places and generally stuffed.
Price…this was the one that got me. People talking about how they charge and watch you eat. Lunch was 13.99 (as advertised on the door) and soda was 3.00 with free refills. They don’t give you the mug (think the size of a 28 oz soda)..instead it comes in a smaller cup (think the size of a 12 oz cup) so for lunch, after tip..it came to $21. For buffets, that’s about the normal.
Would I go back again? IF I’m back out that way in Berlin again…sure, I’d make it a return visit. Overall on the 5* system, I’d give them a 3.9. They don’t hover around you as others have suggested, but they are attentive, meaning..if you need something, they’ll get it to you quick. They don’t rush you out as others have said..but again, I can’t speak on dinner service because I went for lunch.

I keep comin back hoping the food will get better. It’s over priced. It’s cold n everything tastes the same. The waitresses stare at u every step so they can push u out n get the next in. The last time I took food to go I only had one shrimp in my box n she tried to charge me seafood prices to go. With one Not cleaned shrimp. Last time I’ll be eating there. Period

Low keep wanted chinese but had a taste for so many things a buffet made more sense. I don’t like buffets often because the concept is a lil scary, open food and spoons touched by so many people…alright enough of that lol. When I came in I noticed everyone busy with smiles on there faces. It was very clean and nice. The servers were pleasant which is always great. The food options were superb! I didn’t take a pic of my plate but it was piled I promise. Everything I ate was delicious. The only I didn’t enjoy was the wonton because it was a little too much ginger for my liking. As I got my food I noticed them quickly replenishing food that was low and cleaning the food stations. They did the same with our drink refills. The salad and dessert was good, matcha icecream was my favorite. The price was right, you hear me! I paid $20 something for 2 people. Highly recommend and will come again.
